Chapter 9 - "Will I Ever Be Able To See You Again?"

Cale closed his eyes before readying himself and stood up, Kim Dokja still in his arms.

[The story, 'A Reader's Confidant' had begun its final storytelling!]

Everyone could clearly see how Cale look towards the raven in his arms, and they clearly knew that feeling well.

"Please give us Kim Dokja."

Cale pursed his lips then sighed, the 49% had already come closer to them as he touched the 51% in the redhead's embrace.

He cursed out loud when the 49% Kim Dokja was being sucked back into the original, then Kim Dokja further divided himself and scattered throughout the universe leaving only an empty shell behind.

Cale's lips quivered and his eyes dilated, all the screams exchanged between the Fourth Wall and Dokja's companions fell deaf on his ears.

It's already too late.

"I shall take over."

Cale's head whipped towards the newly arrived Yoo Joonghyuk.

"What the?! Hey! What bullshit are you spewing now?!"

"I'm trying to say that I will become the new Oldest Dream."

Cale wanted to laugh out loud, before looking at the Fourth Wall.

"How can you pull that off when you don't even have an iota of imagination?! No, let me do it. I can do it so much better than this Kim Dokja here. That's why..."

The redhead could only stare blankly at them as he continued to rub the already cold body of Kim Dokja in his arms.

「You two cannot become the Oldest Dream, because you don't love this story.」

Cale bit his lips when they all became silent.

"You can take him." He says, and the Fourth Wall lets him talk.

"What do you mean...?" Han Sooyoung trailed.

[You have the qualifications to become the new Oldest Dream!]

Cale Henituse was the Second Oldest Dream that dreams on behalf of Kim Dokja. That was why even though Kim Dokja stepped down from his position, Cale could easily take over.

"You...are you a reader of this story too? Did you love this story too?" Yoo Joonghyuk asks.

"No. I don't love this story," Cale flatly says, slowly walking towards them.

[You are now the sole Oldest Dream!]

"Then how...?"

Cale doesn't love the same story Kim Dokja loves. But instead, he loves the same reader that had read the story.

And that was enough.

Cale gave them a look before slightly bowing his head in greeting, "Let me guide you out. There are Hounds that Chase the Abyss just outside, isn't there?"

「You shouldn't have been greedy. No, y o u sh oul d've be en con te nt wi th 49% Kim Dok ja.」

The Kim Dokja's company was the only one who received that message, seeing that Cale didn't falter in his own steps.

The hounds that even Yoo Joonghyuk had a hard time fending off were easily scared and ran away due to the Dominating Aura the redhead was exuding.

Cale led them out of the Final Wall with Kim Dokja's shell still in his arms.
