As we walked down the stairs of the apartments and out to the sidewalk, we passed all the lit-up shops that were opened until we reached a building that read in big neon letters 'Karaoke palace.' As we entered the building, one of the workers at the desk welcomed us. Ellerosé and I smiled "we would like to book a karaoke room, please" I looked over at Ellerosé, who continued talking to the person behind the desk to see if we could get a karaoke room. Once everything was all done, the person from behind the desk led us down the long hallway to the end room that had an arched door with the number twenty in big, bold black font.
As we entered the room, Ellerosé went towards the small computer that was near the door and began to look through to see what songs we could sing. I, on the other hand, stopped near the doorway after closing the door; it was a small, spaced room with red wallpaper, red sofa chairs and a small table slightly in the middle of the room, and on one of the walls was a TV for us to watch the lyrics of the songs we chose to sing. Of course, being in this room, no one else except those inside could hear singing. Ellerosé handed me a microphone with a smile; I grabbed the microphone into my hand, holding it firmly before walking towards the computer to choose a song.
I searched up a song called 'Personal Hell- by Kim Petras', and once I hit play, I stood in the middle of the room and waited for the lyrics to light up; once the song started, I put my all into it, holding the microphone up to my face where my mouth is and began singing the words forgetting about my surroundings and feeling the song as I sang.
Ellerosé had sat down on one of the sofas and watched me sing and cheered me on; as the song was coming to an end, I gave it my all, finishing with holding the microphone down and bowing my head with my eyes closed until I was interrupted with an applause from Ellerosé, I opened my eyes and looked into her direction and smiled before doing a quick slight bow "thank you, thank you, you're too kind" I then giggled before then trading spots with Ellerosé to hear her sing.
Ellerosé had chosen a fast song to sing, and once she began, my eyes shot wide open hearing her sing the fast song to perfection. Seconds turned into Minutes, Minutes turned into hours, and we still sang our hearts out and continued having fun. After our little Karaoke night was over, we walked out onto the main sidewalk to see what other fun things we could do. After what seemed like a while of walking, we stopped at an arcade; we both looked at each other and smiled before heading in to play some arcade games.
We played a few fun games before then Ellerosé found a really fun one to do, which she led me over to. Once I saw what it was, I smiled "of course, you would, Ellerosé, of course, you would" Ellerosé just stopped and looked at me with a big grin on her face. It was a dance game; it seemed like she wanted a rematch from that time we broke out dancing on the dance floor at the nightclub we had gone to. Without any hesitation, I went to stand on the big light-up dance floor and waited for Ellerosé to start the game.
Once the game started, we began to follow the movements that were shown on the screen on the dance floor. It didn't take long for a few people to start crowding around to watch us dance to the most challenging dance and cheering us on as we smashed the high score and beat the game. After winning the game and claiming the high score, one of the workers came over and handed us a prize, the prize was two unique limited edition key chains. We both thanked the worker with big smiles on our faces before then taking our leave as it was almost time for the sun to come up.
Once we arrived at our apartment just in time before the sun came up, we plopped down on the comfy chairs that were near the kitchen. "That was so fun.." I began to say with Ellerosé looking up and smiled while nodding her head in agreement "yes, yes it was" I smiled while holding up the key chain "and this is just so cute! I'm gonna put it on my bag" I grabbed my bag and began to place the key chain onto it; Ellerosé did the same also "smart idea Livana! ah, the keychains just make the bags even better" she said with a bigger smile forming on her face.
Ellerosé excused herself and headed towards the bathroom, closing the door behind her. I then stood up from the table, leaving my purse on the table and walking over to the window where I slightly cracked open the curtain to see what it was like in the daytime. As I had heard the words of my father play out with the image in my head of him explaining
"we must never go out in direct sunlight, as it is dangerous to us, we had the horrific sight of watching your great, great, great grandfather perish in sunlight and the site was very unsettling. So, you must promise and make sure you never go out when the sun is at its peak."
I never really understood why we can never go out when the sun is at its peak, don't get me wrong I get why so many vampires love exploring places at night time, It's just I wonder what it would be like if there was a way to see if we can also experience the day time something different for a change.
I turned to see if Ellerosé was out of the bathroom, but clearly not as I still heard the shower on; I then turned to look back outside of the window, as I took a deep breath closing my eyes tightening my grip on the curtain, I did a quick one swift movement drawing the curtain back to let the light from the sunshine through. I stood there for a bit. If I wasn't a vampire, I would be holding my breath right about now, waiting for something to happen.
When my eyes were closed for what seemed to be for ages, I slowly opened one eye to look, and then I opened my other eye looking around before then looking at my hands and arms, patting down my whole body 'ha' I thought to myself as nothing was happening, but then all of a sudden, I felt a very uncomfortable feeling on my right arm, I felt it tingle like it was starting to burn, I gasped and quickly closed the curtain before any damage was done, and with that, the burning tingling feeling went away. I let out a sigh of relief while resting my head on the curtain, taking note never to do anything like that again as I knew for sure that if anyone found out..especially my father, I can assure you all hell would break loose, who knows what he would have done then.
I then walked back towards the kitchen to grab one of my blood bags before sitting back down at the table, drinking it lost in thought until I heard the door to the bathroom open up. Ellerosé walked out "bathroom is free if you want to use it" I nodded my head quickly, finishing off the blood bag before throwing it away and heading to the bathroom to shower. Once I turned on the water and placed my clothes on the bench, I hopped into the shower; I just stood underneath the warm water replaying the scene in my head just a few seconds ago.
I just stood there in silence, holding onto my forearm with wide eyes, letting the water run down on me and down the drain; I didn't know how long I stood there in silence until I heard Ellerosé's voice from the other side of the door " LIVANA?!, are you ok in there?" I shook my head, coming out of my trance and looking over towards the closed door; I took a deep breath before replying, "I'm fine, sorry was just lost in my own thoughts.. I'll be out in a minute", and with that, I heard Ellerosé "ok, no worries, was just making sure you are 'alive' in there" I laughed a bit at the pun joke she said.
I then turned off the shower and stepped out while grabbing a towel, drying myself off before wrapping it around my body, grabbing my clothes and then walking out of the bathroom to my room to get changed. Once I was changed, I stepped out of my room with my hair wrapped around in the towel, waiting for it to dry. As I entered the living room, I saw Ellerosé sitting on the lounge asleep with the TV on, I looked to see what the time was and it read 6:30pm.
I then looked back at Ellerosé who was still fast asleep on the lounge; I thought to myself 'I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I go out for a bit on my own, right?' I then picked up my shoes and quickly but quietly walked over to the door and opened it, making sure not to wake Ellerosé up, but knowing her, she is a deep sleeper so nothing would wake her up. I then closed the door, putting on my shoes before heading down the stairs and onto the sidewalk to browse the shops.
