As I was browsing the shops, something caught my eye down one of the dark alleyways between two opened shops. I looked to see another little shop by itself with lights on; as curious as I was, I knew I shouldn't be doing this, going off by myself, but as usual, my curiosity got the best of me. Before I knew it, I was walking down the dark alleyway towards the tiny little shop that was shaped more or so like a house, like someone was living there. As I got closer and closer, the more everything surrounding me got quieter and quieter until it was deafening. No noise of cars, no noise of people chattering, nothing but dead silence.
I kept my guard up in case something or someone tried anything; I stopped to look around before continuing towards the house shop. Once I got to the stairs, I only stopped for a second before taking a deep breath and proceeding towards the door. I looked inside to see what seemed to be a shop full of antiques and other precious valuables; I looked at the glass window on the door to see the sign saying it was 'open' before then opening up the door and stepping in, "Hello? is there anyone here?" I called out, making my presence known.
I continued walking, letting the door close, and I looked at all the antiques and other valuable things; until then, I heard someone "hello, hello, how may I help you?" I turned to see a very unique looking person who was extremely close to me, about arm's length reach close. 'Probably the shop owner' I thought to myself.
I then smiled slightly "this place is very unique.." I began to say while looking at everything on the shelf in front of me. "Oh yes, everything in this shop is unique because it is all homemade; let me know if anything fancy's to your liking" the person replied with a smile before heading back to the backroom to continue working. I walked all through the shop, looking at everything that was on display, until something caught my attention from the corner of my eye. I stopped to turn and look, to see a lovely vintage lace, short knee-length ocean blue coloured dress on the mannequin in the window at front of the shop.
I walked up to the dress, looking at it with awe; the shop owner appeared again out from the backroom "would you like to try it on miss?" I turned to the shop owner and smiled "oh.. if that is ok" The shop owner walked over to take the dress off of the mannequin and handed it to me "of course! Follow me to the changing rooms" I took the dress into my hands and walked to follow the owner to the changing rooms, where I stepped inside one and tried on the ocean blue dress.
Once I put it on, it surprisingly fitted like a glove nicely. I walked out of the changing room to stand in front of a big mirror to see myself in the dress; I turned to look at the dress from every angle. "Oh my" the owner began to say "it suits you so well; I've never thought in a million years would a dress be designed for a gorgeous person like yourself" I looked up at the shop owner and smiled "really? it is such an amazing dress, and the colour is gorgeous..how much is it?" The shop owner just shook her head "you can have it as a gift if you would like-" I cut her off respectfully, saying, "oh no, I want to pay for it; I couldn't possibly take it as a gift without paying" The owner then smiled "well in that case, it is twenty dollars" I grabbed my belongings, still wearing the pretty ocean blue laced dress and paid at the counter, handing over a twenty dollar note to the owner.
"Thank you, and I hope you have an amazing night" I looked at the shop owner and thanked her before making my way towards the shop door " thank you" I replied before opening the door and walking out of the shop. I looked at the time, and it had read 10 pm; I then headed back down the darkened alleyway and out onto the main sidewalks of the two opened shops, making my way back to the apartment building myself and Ellerosé were staying in.
'Maybe she is still sleeping' I thought to myself before stopping for a bit 'or maybe she is awake and is wondering where I am' I then quickened up my pace heading up the stairs to the apartment building, to the apartment we were staying in. As soon as I reached for the door, I opened it with the spare key and walked through the door, until.. "Livana?! is that you?" I heard Ellerosé say before coming into view "yes, it's me" I replied back and with a blur motion, she wrapped her arms around me, giving me the biggest hug, not letting go "OH THANK GOD-" she began to say.
I was confused "why? what is wrong?" Ellerosé pulled back "when I woke up, I couldn't find you, and I was looking for you everywhere in this apartment calling for you; I thought something had happened to you" I sighed. "I'm sorry for making you worry, I just wanted to go and do more exploring, and I had found this cute little shop, and I went inside to have a browse, that is when I found this cute dress that I brought." I said while showing off the dress. Ellerosé sighed before hugging me "it is pretty, I'm just glad that you are safe-." she began to say until at the end I heard a sad tone in her voice " sorry I scared you" I replied.
Ellerosé shook her head "don't worry about that..Livana, I have to tell you something" I looked at her in confusion "um..ok..what is it?" Ellerosé went to sit down on the lounge, being all quiet. I walked over and joined her "ok, Ellerosé, you are never this quiet; what happened?" Ellerosé turned to look at me with an apologetic look in her eyes.
"Livana, when you were gone, and I couldn't find you.." she began to say before trailing off and looking away. "Ellerosé?" I began to say. Ellerosé lifted her head and gave out a big sigh before then turning to me, " I called your parents, Livana.. and they have sent your brother to come pick us up to take you back home" I then froze, feeling my body going colder as I went into shock.
'no-no, why? This can't be happening, not yet. There is still a lot of places for me to explore and see. Why my brother? why?' I thought to myself, just sitting still on the lounge and staring at the floor with my eyes wide open in horror; it's not that I am afraid of my brother. It's just I am afraid of what he could do, as the last time something bad happened was when I had gone off on my own from a family event when I was younger.
My brother had gone to look for me, and once, he had found me crouching down into a ball with my hands above my head, trying to tell the other youngling vampires to stop tormenting me. My brother had lost it, and in one quick blur motion, he swung his hands at the other vampires necks, decapitating their heads from their bodies and ripping every limb of their bodies off, causing a blood bath killing; I had lifted my head and watched in horror at the scene that had folded in front of me, watching a pool of blood form on the floor, and seeing my brother standing in the middle of it dropping the lifeless body of the vampires to the floor, before then turning to look at me with him covered in blood and his eyes dark as coal with red highlights formed around them.
He then started walking over to me, picking me up into his arms before then heading back towards our family event. I had never moved or even dared to think of moving, as I stayed still in shock, the rest of the walk back was dead quite, as both of us stayed silent not talking. That memory of that incident remains fresh in my mind every time someone mentions or speaks of my brother like it had happened just recently.
