Chapter 14 - Exploring the underworld

While Ràinà and I were heading towards the city of the underworld, we first walked through the lower class of the underworld. "This is where I and some others live" I heard Ràinà say, as I looked around, seeing the different underworld species scavenging through a dumpster and having fights. It was sad to see how these people live like this; I turned to look at Ràinà "how can people live like this?" I began to ask her, which she then abruptly stopped in her tracks before turning around to look back at me with a sad expression. "It is hard, but we all manage in a way" she said in a low, sad tone, looking around before grabbing my right forearm and continuing walking.

While walking past the lower class of the underworld, something felt off, but I trusted Ràinà and followed close behind her. Once we were near the city's border, I felt like a whole weight was lifted from my shoulders, it was odd, but I knew that seeing how the lower class of the underworld live made me want to even help them more; I couldn't believe that my father hadn't done anything already to help them, it made me mad, once I am the new ruler of the underworld I will be the one to do something about it and have a fresh new start for not only the citizens of the underworld but for the whole of the underworld itself.

While observing the lower class of the underworld, Ràinà had stopped at the edge of the city, watching me and could see how I felt. "Hey, don't worry about them-" Ràinà began to say as I focused my attention on her. "They may look like they are weak but trust me, they aren't; they are far from being weak that other citizens make them out to be" I had a confused yet surprised look on my face while replying "oh? what have they done or what can they do?" as I was now interested in the lower class citizens of the underworld. "Oh, some can rip ya limbs off in one quick, painless motion if they wanted to; others like to keep it long and torturable and have their victims feel every excruciating pain that is happening to them" as I was at Ràinà's side, I stopped and was a taken back with the words she had used to describe what the lower class of the underworld are capable of doing.

While we proceeded into the city, many citizens were out and about; some worked in shops and markets, and others bought things. I looked around at my surroundings until I saw Ràinà at one of the market stalls getting something while talking to the stall person. I walked over and looked at the stall that had some very interesting things; I just knew if I were with my family, they wouldn't let me be this close to anything or anyone as they said it could be 'way too dangerous'. While I looked at the things waiting for Ràinà to finish up, I then heard a familiar voice at the stall talking. I looked up to see it was Ellerosé; I quickly then, without making a big scene that I was from the royal family, I communicated with Ellerosé telepathically.

'Ellerosé..' I had begun to say, and I saw her jump a little as it seemed I had startled her; she then looked up, her eyes scanning her surroundings until they landed on me, who had a slight smile on my face, to then her surprise her eyes widened in shock before then quickly but normally pushing myself and Ràinà into a small unattended alleyway. "Livana, what in the hell are you doing here!?" she said in a firm yet concerning voice.

I just smiled at her and explained what had happened back at home " Ellerosé, they wanted me to get married tomorrow, but I didn't want to besides the one they had so-called suited me to is horrible, and so here I am, and Ràinà here has been showing me around and has told me while showing me how the lower class citizens live and do while on our way here to the city-" Ellerosé quickly lifted her hand stopping me from talking before then saying " you..you were in the lower class section of the underworld!? you aren't hurt or injured, or anything, are you?-"

I could see in Ellerosé's eyes that she was worried, which I then quickly reassured her "no, no, I am fine" while Ellerosé and I were talking, Ràinà had opened up the bag and began to eat the food that she had got at one of the stalls "I'm sure that no one has noticed yet that the princess of the underworld is here, besides they are always busy anyways so all is good, if not they would have already have us surrounded" she began to say which then caught the attention of myself and Ellerosé which we both looked in the direction of Ràinà.

Ellerosé quickly looked around back at the citizens in the city markets before then turning back and nodded with a sigh of relief. "So, can we keep exploring the rest of the underworld and have fun?" I began to say to Ellerosé and Ràinà, looking at them with a small begging smile on my face and my hands cupped together. Ellerosé and Ràinà both turned to look at me, but before they could say anything I added on with a cute "Pleaaaassseee?" and with that, they both just sighed and said "ok, let's go but you MUST stay close to us at all times" I then squealed excitedly clapping my hands together as I felt my cheeks hurt from smiling even wider than before, and with that I walked in between Ellerosé and Ràinà back out into the city markets where we continued on with our exploring of the underworld, seeing so many different places and sceneries.

We were having so much fun and laughing so much as we found a quiet field surrounded by trees with only one tree smack in the middle; we then sat down, watching the red sun set behind the mountains that were over on the horizon. "I just love how the sun sets," I said while looking at the sky change from a deep red to a light peachy coloured, mesmerized by the colour. Ellerosé and Ràinà both smiled while also watching the sunset with me "it is pretty amazing, isn't it" Ràinà replied, which then Ellerosé agreed "yes, very pretty indeed" I sighed while lifting my knees to my chest and wrapping my arms in a hugging position around them resting my chin on top of them. "Oh, how I wish I could do this all the time, not caring about or taking orders from anyone, just being free, free to do whatever I want whenever I want."

The three of us then just sat there in silence, watching the last bit of light in the sky fade away, turning the day into night with the full new moon replacing the sun and the millions of stars twinkling like little lights in the night sky. Crickets then began to sing their song amongst the tall grass until they were disturbed by a snap of a tree branch that was on the ground, which then we all focused our attention on the darkness opening between the two trees that had a pathway that led to the field we were in that had one tree smacked in the middle of the field, which the three of us stood up quickly into a fighting stance until we realised who it was as they approached out from the darkness into the clearing.

My eyes widened, seeing it as my father with a few guards, but they weren't alone; beside my father was none other than Vernon. My eyes then went from wide to a cold glare as I saw Vernon with a smirk on his face. 'This is bad, really bad' I thought to myself as I watched my father with the guards and Vernon walk closer and closer until they stopped dead in their tracks just inches away from us; I clenched my hands into fists waiting for the outburst from my father to lecture me yet again I took a deep breath waiting. Ellerosé and Ràinà both bowed their heads and kept looking down to the ground, not daring to look up unless they were spoken to.

"Livana..." I heard my father say in a dark, cold, firmed voice which I greeted him back with the same tone, indicating that I was not going to back down "Father..." Vernon then decided to join in on the conversation, but with a smirk on his face "hello dear-" I then cut him off with a dark glare with my voice almost a growl towards him "SHUT THE HELL UP YOU FUCKING-" before I could finish my father stepped in "LIVANA MANNERS" I then turned my cold glare from Vernon to my father which I replied with the same toned voice I used on Vernon "NO" it was then dead silent with the atmosphere growing cold and dark, with myself and my father at a standoff, I was ready, ready to fight for my freedom no matter if it is with my father, I will continue to fight, until I can be free and do whatever I want with no one telling me what to do or what not to do.
