Chapter 15 - The Fight

What seemed like minutes turned into hours, with my father and I staring each other down in silence, until my father was the one to break the silence first. "Livana, how many times do I have to tell you that marrying Vernon is what is best for you and our people-" I glared harder at my father, interrupting him before he could continue speaking, "is it? Or is it better for you? because if you truly knew me, dad, you would know that I am no longer a child. You can't just keep ordering me around.." my father was then taken aback a bit before continuing on with his lectures towards me "Livana from the moment you were born you were destined to marry a prince hence why all those classes you went to when you were young was to prepare you for not only ruling an entire kingdom but for marriage also" My father stepped closer before then reaching out his right hand towards me, but before he could close the gap between us I stepped back away from him shaking my head.

I then noticed Ellerosé slightly looking up in my direction; as our eyes met, I knew what she was indicating, that now would be a good time to tell my dad how I genuinely feel; I felt my stomach drop and a pressure feeling on my chest. I closed my eyes for a minute before taking a deep breath in, lifting my head to look my father dead in the eyes before then saying, "father there is something you must know.." my father then raised one of his eyebrows as to letting me continue on what I was saying. I gulped before continuing "I-" my eyes began to look away from my father, finding the right words to say to him, but before I knew it, the words darted out from my lips "I don't like men.." I quickly closed my mouth, my eyes wide in shock as I felt like I had no control over what I had just said.

I looked back at my father, who had then cocked his head to the side before bursting out with laughter, replying "come on Livana, you can't be serious; since when did you think of this?" My father continued laughing as he nudged Vernon's arm, which Vernon had then joined in laughing while saying "that is just absurd. No one in the royal family's history has been with the same sex; what world are you living in, princess?" I felt my hands close into fists "well, isn't it about time to change that history and create a new chapter?" I said with a firm voice, confident in what I was talking about.

Vernon replied with "a new chapter? HA, surely not; we cannot have that at all. We must stick with the old values that have been taught to us. It is for the best for the families and the people of the underworld; we wouldn't want to send the wrong ideas to the next royal family generation, now would we" before I or anyone else knew it, I had dashed towards Vernon in a blink of an eye and punched him so hard in the face, causing him to fly off the ground, making contact with one of the big trees followed by a loud cracking sound.

Ellerosé and Ràinà both had then raised their heads and watched in shock and horror as Vernon stood onto his feet, gaining his balance and what had just happened to him; he then looked up and did his annoying smirk towards me that I hated. "Wow," he started saying "I love a strong woman who is also very powerful.." I glared at Vernon, watching him return to where the rest of us were. "Careful what you say Vernon, or else I'll just show you what my power can do" Vernon snickered before moving quickly like a blur to stand behind me and placed his arms around my waist and whispered low in my ear "come on dear, you know we are a great couple picture it, you and me, king and queen of the underworld nothing can stop us, we will be unstoppable.." I stopped him from talking anymore by using my power on him, causing his arms to snap back so hard. I turned away from his grasp "in your fucking dreams, asshole" I replied harshly with my eyes turning a black coal colour with red highlights turning the night black sky to a dark deep velvet red and the trees surrounding us on fire.

I glared at Vernon, watching him look around before seeing his eyes widen in horror, he then looked at my father to see if he could interfere, but my father did not dare intervene as he knew exactly what would happen. "You want to see how far I can use my power? I will show you" I began to say with a harsh, echoed voice. Vernon watched while stepping back; seeing my appearance change, I began to levitate off the ground, and dark black long vampire wings that were each a good few meters wide appeared from behind me; I then felt a smirk form on my face watching Vernon be scared like the prey had turned into the hunter and the hunter turned into the prey. Ellerosé and Ràinà, both off to the side, watched in horror seeing the true deadly form of a royal when another has either pissed them off, or messed with someone they hold very dear to them, to show others and have them know that they are fucked.

Before Vernon had any chance to run, I bolted towards him at lightning speed, decapitating his head from his body in one quick swipe motion. I then looked at the head, seeing the last ever expression before turning to see the body fall to its knees and then laying down on the ground. I then transformed back into my normal form, the big dark black wings disappearing and my black coal eyes with red highlights turned back to a blue colour; I then grabbed a sharp stick and placed it through Vernon's head and then stabbed the other end of the stick into his deceased body.

My father had then walked over standing beside me, looking at what I had done to Vernon " You are definitely my daughter.." he began to say; I then turned to look at him, and he turned to look at me "you know I did something similar to what you did, but it was with a different meaning" after hearing what my father said I replied with "what was your reason?" He then turned to look back at the scenery before smiling and looking back at me. "I fought to be with your mother; someone else liked her too; they had started the fight, of course, but they were no match for me as I had ended it, and then your mother and I got married."

I looked down at the ground before then looking up to the sky, which was back to night with stars and the moon. "let's go home" I heard my father say as I watched him slowly head back home; Ellerosé and Ràinà had then walked standing behind me waiting for me to walk so that they then could follow. I turned to look at them, seeing them both nod their heads in agreement. I then smiled at them and turned to follow my father back home with Ellerosé and Ràinà close behind us, leaving the clearing and Vernon's deceased body behind and not looking back.
