forelsket- the euphoria you experience when you are first falling in love

--

hailey walked down the hallway in hysteria, the file in her hands, and jay trailing behind her struggling to keep up.

just as she was about to open the door, jay pulled her back. "hailey, hailey, wait."

she pulled back, and looked at him, a look a confusion written all over her face.

"breathe for a minute." he advised, both his hands on her shoulders. she tried to shrug them off, but he persisted.

"jay-"

"hailey, don't go in there all fired up, okay? just calm down."

it was then her expression of annoyance dropped, and a look of disbelief appeared on her face. "calm down?" she asked, as if the question was utterly insane.

he shrugged, not knowing what he did wrong.

she sighed to herself. "what was it that story you told me? your brother was here, getting interrogated for what..drugging, or murdering some girl?"

he realized what she had been talking about. back long before hailey had joined the unit. will had been a suspect in a string of girls gone missing after going out.

"what does that have to do with-"

"you're telling me, when your brother was sitting there in that interrogation room, you were calm and collected?"

he was shocked she brought this up. he'd almost forgotten about the event entirely. "hailey, that's not what i meant."

"look i appreciate it, really, but i'm doing this as i would with any other suspect. don't doubt that." she demanded.

she raised her eyebrow at him once more, and he nodded along. he'd be right on the other side of that room in case things went south.

she turned to open the door, and there he was. spencer was handcuffed to the table leg, and hailey closed the door behind her. she opened up the file, and you didn't even have to look to see the expression of pure shock that grew on his face.

"hailey?" he gasped. "you're a cop?"

she sat down ignoring his comment, and flipped through the file again.

"we have your prints on the murder weapon that was used to kill dr.andre vinneti." she replied, looking up at him in disappointment.

"holy crap, hail-"

"spencer!" she yelled cutting him off. "this isn't a family reunion. from where i'm sitting, it looks like you're going away for murder, so unless you start talking, you're getting locked up for god knows how long."

he sighed before speaking. "it wasn't me."

she looked at him in disappointment. "i want to believe you, but your prints are on the knife. i need more from you."

"i can't tell you."

she looked at him in confusion. "you don't really have a choice."

"hailey, they'll kill me."

"spencer," she started, running her hands through her face. "whoever you're vouching for right now, is clearly not worth it. you talk now, we can figure something out. you're only making it harder for yourself."

spencer looked at her for a moment more, before sighing. "i'm sorry hailey."

she gave him one last pleading look, before getting up with her files. he stared off for a minute, as hailey walked out of the room.

right as she grabbed the door handle, spencer spoke up.

"viola. viola kelsey, my girlfriend."

hailey turned back, and waited for him to continue.

"i'm not saying anything else."

she nodded before she walked out, where she went to the other side of the window, where she met with jay, and now voight.

"viola kelsey." voight repeated. "you ever heard of that name?" he asked hailey.

she looked at her brother through the window with her arms crossed. "never."

"alright," voight started, "we'll run it through out systems. good work." he applauded hailey, before walking off.

hailey ran her hand through her hair, and began to follow voight.

"wait, wait hailey." jay stopped her before she could walk off.

"i'm fine before you ask." she stopped him.

he nodded, knowing that was what he intended to ask. "okay."

she walked off in a huff, making her way back to the bullpen, jay trailing behind her.

-

"what've we got?" hailey asked as they walked into the room.

"viola kelsey, 29, no priors." kim started, reading off of her laptop. "moved here about..3 years ago, but we don't have anything on this girl."

"is he tipping us off?" adam asked, leaning against kim's desk

"not necessarily." voight added, "kim, adam, when you guys stopped by the store, they said there was no footage at all?"

"supposedly." kim answered leaning back in her chair. "the owner wasn't in the store at the time, apparently he's the only one with access to footage.

"well, hailey and jay, go hit up the store, see if the owner's there."

the two nodded and got up. jay grabbed her coat, and the two began to walk out the bullpen.

"you're looking for a sam marcos." adam yelled, before the two left.

jay gave him a thumbs up, just before leaving, and the two left in a hurry.
