Prompt: Olivia and Spencer are almost going on two years of marriage when Olivia thinks about what would Spencer be doing right now if they had never met each other.
Inspiration: This one-shot was inspired by the song "A Woman Like You," by Lee Brice. I was listening to it earlier this week and thought of this cute one-shot idea based on the song. If you like country I'd give it a listen if you haven't already. It's pretty cute and one of my all time favorites. So I thought why not mesh both of my favorite things into a story, Spelivia, and this song. And this is kind of what I came up with.
Sorry, in advance if it's terrible! I haven't written in so long and currently going through writer's block, but trying to push through it so forgive me if it's not great. Just didn't want to go another month without posting anything❤️
I was also hearing another country song that gave me the inspiration to write another one shot but that one you are definitely not going to like, so I'll save that for a later date. It's definitely filled with a lot of angst, so we'll see about that one!
Anyway happy reading! 📖❤️

"Hey baby,". Olivia spoke barely above a whisper. With her hands interlaced in Spencer's, she played with the gold band on his left ring finger. Something she would do subconsciously without even thinking. It always brought a smile to her face and still couldn't believe this coming June would be two years since saying 'I do'. She could still picture their wedding as if it was yesterday.
She knows it's cheesy to say that it was the happiest day of her life, but it quite literally was. She got to marry her high school sweetheart, her best friend, and the boy she'd only ever seen a forever with. The road to get there wasn't easy which is why marrying Spencer had felt like a breath of fresh air. That they'd surpassed all the obstacles that came in their way.
She knew it was just the beginning, as marriage is never easy and a lifelong commitment but she knew they were ready for it. It was the thought of knowing that she has Spencer by her side for the rest of her life that brought her a comfort she never knew she needed. But it didn't stop her from overthinking the what if's. A hum came from beside her letting her know that Spencer had been listening.
With his head still resting on her shoulder, his eyes were closed, while his right hand had been tucked in between her thighs out of habit. Even with a full couch of space, Spencer and Olivia always gravitated to sit beside each other. He'd always want to be in her space, as he loved nothing more than cuddling on the couch together.
Especially after a long day out in the field, nothing sounded better to him than unwinding on the couch and watching a movie with Olivia. Even though he'd usually never make it through, he knew Olivia would tell him the parts he'd missed over breakfast the next morning. Something he'd enjoyed even more than the movie as he loved hearing his wife talk.
She could talk about anything and nothing at all, and Spencer would still be infatuated by the conversation. But what came out of his wife's mouth next quickly woke him up, stirring him out of the daze and exhaustion he'd felt from the long day of practice, and being out in the sun.
"What would you do, if you had never met me?". Spencer scrunched his face while he picked up his head confused at the question his wife was asking him. Meeting her eyes, his right hand now rested on top of her left thigh giving her a squeeze, while his thumb rubbed her thigh in a soothing motion.
"What do you mean if we never met?". Spencer asked a bit taken aback by the random question his wife threw at him. It wasn't unusual though. Olivia loved to ask him random questions throughout the day.
