It's Autumn outside the highrise window, the glass doing nothing much to wick the outdoor chill from the powdery white meeting room. You couldn't come by a good night's sleep recently, and the new burden of a mission didn't sit quite right amongst the unease. Yet here you are, leaning into the soft plush of the chair with a file in front of you.
You've been reading the case for nearly a week now, familiarizing yourself with the mission at hand and what role you'd play in it all. It all seemed simple enough - you would be disguised as the wife of the CEO of a major Japanese pharmaceutical company and take out the target. You've done much more, this would be fairly easy, but you don't know why they chose you, and would most likely never find out.
You do think it would be good for you to get away - to spend six weeks across the ocean while Keigo dominates this new era in the charts. He's impossible to avoid, as you're dominating next to him, and the relationship rumors aren't kind either. Every single possible move you or Keigo make spreads about a massive internet sensation and you have to fly under the radar for days afterward.
"We're still waiting for a few people." The office door draws open and in walks your temporary boss. You've known Adan for almost as long as you've known Keigo - she was an A-List sidekick during the All-Might reign, but dwindled slowly out of public view after a life-changing injury. Not only does she now have a scar stretching from under her neck to her waist but has fallen easily into the management side of heroism, usually underground, and usually undercover.
She stops next to you, smiling softly as you look up. "It's good to see you again." Her voice is laced thick with fake sympathy and it makes you wonder just how much she knows. What has Keigo been telling people?
"You too, Adan." You reply, placing your hand over hers over your shoulder. She pulls her lips forward into a smile once more before stepping deeper into the room, placing her case file at her spot at the head of the table.
"Who else are we waiting for?" You were undeniably out of your element at this moment as two others sit at the table, confident in their spots.
"The CEO himself, of course." Adan clears her throat and sits down. "Somebody else, too. You three were early." She mumbles, checking her watch as the noon hour finally ticks past. She doesn't look up until the door clicks open, and everyone from the table looks up.
You have to swallow back your visual deadpan as Touya, of all people, strides into the room, sunglasses sitting atop his head. He walks right past you to sit next to one of the nameless members, just parallel you.
"Look who finally arrived. We were just talking about you."
"Slandering my name I suppose." Touya sits up in his chair, crossing his feet under the table. His air is obscenely dominant - you can tell he's trying. He's trying because he sees you.
You haven't not seen Touya since that night a few months ago. In fact, he's been the warm indentation in your bed at night - leaving his firey mark on you like a hidden tattoo. You two vowed to keep it a secret, partly promised out of shame, but partly because Touya was still with Keigo. You didn't ask questions, and you're sure you knew what you had to, so you let it fall by the wayside. Usually, it was just the occasional hook-up after work, but most times you didn't mean it. You see him so often, and every time you do, all of your moral sense is lost. You feel like a horny college kid.
"Don't tell me - the CEO?" You don't even meet his gaze, all you can do is mutter.
"I couldn't think of anyone better." Adan raises her eyebrows as if you doubting Touya was the worst possible offense. He's a proud nepotism baby as he smirks in his seat, but his raw power and snake-like tendencies make him extremely attractive for cases like these.
