"Ash," Karsen tapped on my shoulder lightly as I rubbed the sleep from my eyes.

"Yes, love ?" My eyes traveled from her ghostly pale face to the direction she was staring. The white sheets were tainted red with blood in the area her lower body lay. It wasn't a lot of blood but I could tell she was scared. "Baby it's okay, a lot of girls bleed there second time. It's normal, you aren't dying," I kissed her cheek and stood up to stretch. "Go take a shower and I'll get clean sheets. Okay?"

"Alright," she disappeared into the bathroom while I stripped the bed of sheets.

I stepped out of the shower into the steam filled bathroom . I slipped into my underwear and wiped the fog from the mirror and didn't recognize the person staring back. Her blue eyes were dazzling , blonde hair alive, and skin smooth and vibrant except for the huge dark purplish bruise on her neck. I hadn't noticed Ash was in the bathroom until he wrapped his arms around my waist and stared at my reflection also.

"Beautiful isn't it ?" he whispered referring to the horrifying mark on my skin.

"Ash, you marked me," my eyes board into his reflection.

"Yes, people need to know who you belong to. We're going out today," I tried to pry his arms from my body. "Is there a problem?" his eyes dared me to retaliate.

"Let go," I gritted out. He spun me around and his grip got tighter.

"Excuse me ? You are mine and if you have a problem with that ...well sweetheart you're just going to have to deal with it," his eyes, ice and voice, cold and hard. I was making him angry. I pushed him away.

"You have issues," I marched out of the bathroom , Ash hot on my tail as I left the room and headed downstairs.

"Don't walk away from me Karsen," his voice was deadly low. I spun around to face him.

"And why the fuck not ?! Ash you fucking marked me like I'm your fucking pet or something!"

"Watch your fucking tone Karsen. You're pissing me off," I slapped him hard, really hard.

"Watch my fucking tone?! Ash you are not my parent, and honestly I don't know if you're going to be my boyfriend much longer either," I walked out to the beach. Ash didn't follow this time .

I sat in the sand close to the water hugging myself for quite a while. Tears streamed down my face furiously. I loved Ash with all my heart but he had serious problems. I rose from my vulnerable position and walked out into the water. I stopped when the water reached right before my navel. I began to cry more when I realized Ash was probably doing something stupid right now, either drugs or drinking. Maybe even both.

When I finally made it back into the house Ash was at the dinner table, just staring down at the glass. I went to the refrigerator to get some fruit. When I sat down at the table with my bowl and fork Ash didn't even look up. So I began to eat.

"Her name was Emilia," I looked at him confused but he went on.

"My mothers name was Emilia. I couldn't sleep and my dad was working late so she was singing a song to me. Her beautiful voice was flowing through out the room as I laid next to her. Then his voice broke the tranquility as he called her name."

"Emiliaaa, " his cold voice sang. The voice of satan. My mother rose from where she lay beside me and hid me under dresses in the basket beside her vanity.

"Stay quiet my love. Everything is going to be fine. Mommy loves you," her beautiful smile was weak and I could see the worry swimming in her crystal blue eyes. His shoes tapped across the wood floor.

"Emilia, long time no see darling," that demonic smile will forever be in my head.

"Juliano please, just leave," her voice was soft.

"Now why would I leave you my darling," he grabbed a handful of her midnight black hair, "I said I loved you didn't I ?"

"Juliano, I have a family now .A husband. Children. A life, " she croaked as he pushed her to her knees.

"I told you. It's me or nothing ," he brought the gun to her head.

"Asher is your child," the way she said it made me know it was over. All hope was drained from her voice, her eyes closed, her body relaxed, and then the trigger was pulled.

"And that is what happened to my mother, " I looked at Ash's blank face with my mouth agape. I understand why it was so hard for him to tell me. He had witnessed his mother being murdered.

"Ash...I," he cut me off.

"Karsen I lost her," he looked at me and now there seemed to be emotion. He was scared. " I can't take losing you too." I left my chair quickly to hug him tight.

"Oh Ash," he hugged me back and I felt a tear on my my stomach since I was standing and he was still sitting down.

"Please don't leave me Karsen, please don't go. I'm so sorry," he held my waist tight.

"It's alright baby. I'm not going anywhere , I promise," I ran my fingers through his hair until his crying stopped and he calmed down.

"Karsen ." he looked up at me.

"Yes, Ash?" he stood up and led me upstairs. When we reached the room he kissed my shoulder from where he stood behind me.

"I wanna make you feel good."

After hours of Ash pleasuring my body over and over he finally rested and drifted to sleep. I had to much on my mind to sleep so soon. Ash's bare skin touching mine was more than a sexual thing. It made feel safe and like I was suppose to be next to him. Like I belonged with Ash. I loved him . Once I did fall asleep I was awaken by thunder. I gasp as the thunder roared.

"It's alright baby. It's just the rain," Ash said calmly as he smoothed my hair. We had changed positions and now he lay under me like usual. The way the lightning lit up his face for seconds at a time was beautiful. His green eyes were calm and relaxed.

"I love you Ash."

"I love you too Karsen." I crawled more up his body to reach his lips and kissed him softly.

"I am yours," he pushed my chest to where I was sitting up straddling him. He supported himself with his elbows. His lips brushed the dark mark and I shivered. His tongue flicked out of his mouth and icy blue eyes held mine as it ran over the bruise.

"Ash," I gasped.

"That's right. You are mine."
