Jessica

I was born Jessa Leanne Nickels. But I was taken right out of the hospital as a newborn by my Aunt Leah. She took me from my family to save my sister (my fraternal twin) and myself from an ancient family evil. She drove us for days, only stopping to feed me. Aunt Leah dropped me off at a church and left a note asking the nuns to find me a good home and that we keep the name Jessica, and the nuns did just that.

A young couple, The Grayson's just found out that they could not have children. Brenda came to the church to talk to her priest, who had been a good friend to her family over the years. When she was leaving, one of the nuns stopped her just before she put her hand on the doors to leave.

"Mrs. Grayson, the older nun called out. I would like you to come with me and help me out with something for a moment." Brenda was puzzled, but she turned and went with the old nun.

Brenda

I walked with the old nun to her office. I was putting out new flowers for the week and I was outside pastor Ellis's office. I didn't me to overhear your conversation. We walked into her office, and she offered me a seat and made tea as she began telling me how a little baby girl, was dropped off on their doorstep. "She needs a good home, and the only requirement is that you name her Jessica," the nun said.

"Wait, what are you saying?" Brenda asked.

"I am saying I would like to give her to you, and you could be her mom." Brenda gasped.

"But you can't just give someone a baby," said Brenda.

"Yes, when babies are dropped off at a church, I believe their special and have a destiny. She needs a good home, and you want to be a mom, and you want a baby. I have adoption papers ready right here. It's all legal and taken care of by a friend at an adoption agency. All you have to do is sign the papers."

Just then a young, woman came in with the most beautiful little baby girl about six months old, with the most beautiful chocolate brown eyes, and when the young woman placed her in my arms, tears filled my eyes and I fell in love instantly. I looked at the nun in tears. I have nothing for her right now. No car seat or diapers or food." The nun waved her off when the young girl came back in with a diaper bag filled with formula and diapers and a pretty pink car-seat.

The nun's assistant helped me put Jessica in the car and we went home, giving my husband the biggest surprise of his life, and just like me, he fell in love instantly. That night he went out and bought her the cutest nursery bedroom set and everything else that baby's need.

Jessica

I had a good family life. My adopted parents never kept anything from me. They told me the story every night at bedtime of how the nuns gave me to my Mom Brenda, and she brought me home and how they fell in love with the most beautiful chocolate brown-eyed baby.

I smiled at that memory as I came back to myself. I was working on painting this old run-down cabin. It was my real parents first cabin and Kate gave it to me, after she found out I was her fraternal twin. I've been coming here a lot lately to think and to learn more about my real family and this new power I have inside me. I missed out on so much growing up. Even though I had a good family when I was younger, with Brenda and Richard it didn't last long enough.

When I was four, Richard found out he had melanoma cancer and Brenda had to hire a nurse/nanny for him and me, to help out my mom. That is when Miss, Jane became a part of our family and moved in with us to help my mom out. My dad started becoming very ill from all the medication and cancer. But he still always made time for me.

When I was about seven, I was playing outside with some friends and my adopted dad Richard was sitting in his wheelchair reading a book and watching me play with some neighborhood friends.
