AN: Hi there! Here's the third chapter, lot of new faces here as Rose goes to Hogwarts. Finally!! Thanks for giving this fanfic a chance and right now, I'm just trying to build the foundation right so the exciting parts are only a chapter or two away! Get ready to meet someone special in the next chapter:)

Standing on platform 93/4, the Fortescues were waiting for Rose and Lucille to show up. Mr and Mrs Fortescue were engaged in a conversation with a muggle couple. One of their daughters was starting at Hogwarts and by the looks of it, her family were very proud to have a witch in their family. The man, a ginger with a bubbly personality had one arm around his youngest daughter and the other around his wife, a slim blonde woman with a kind smile. Standing next to her mother was their elder daughter Petunia. She was blonde and tall, clearly taking after her mother but what surprised Alice was how miserable and stuck up the girl looked. On the other hand, Lily had her mother's smile and her fathers hair. She shot Alice a shy smile while the adults interacted and Alice was sincerely delighted to mirror it. Before the two girls were properly acquainted, a young boy approached the gathering. He was extremely pale and thin, with no aura of friendliness around him. "Oh this is Severus" Mrs Evans introduced him, shooting the boy a warm smile which he surprisingly returned slightly. "Him and Lily are joined by the hip. Hopefully the three of you will have plenty of time to bond." Alice and Lily politely smiled seeming to agree with her. Surprisingly enough, both Severus and Petunia snickered and then shot glares at each other. "Ah the untold possibilities of fate." Mr Fortescue chuckled. "Excuse me but I have a horrible feeling that our son is up to something. I'll be back shortly darling." He said before pecking his wife's cheek. He turned to the Evans, extending his hand and bidding each of them and Severus goodbye. "We'll have to get going too. Lily and Sev must start boarding. It was lovely meeting you." Mrs Evans spoke as she hugged Alice's mum and finally bent down to hug Alice. After the Evans departed, her father turned to her and kissed her head." Hang in there Al, Rose will be here soon." Well, turns out that soon was an overstatement.

There now remained ten minutes to 11AM and Alice was starting to worry. It was unlike Rose to turn up late. She loved being on time and if she could, Rose would always try to turn up a minute earlier than expected. Where must she be? Alice wondered. Surely they knew about platform 93/4. What Alice failed to notice was that her posture radiated her nervousness, people around  her could easily tell that the girl was about to burst. Her back was straight as a pole but the girl was shuffling her feet as she waited for her friend to  arrive. "Any minute now dear." Her mother smiled at her and pulled her close. This made the girl a little less nervous and she settled down a bit. Neville had already found his mates. Gideon and Fabian Prewett were in the same year as Neville. They went a long way back. Neville and the twins were a disastrous trio, spreading chaos and mischief wherever they went. The only person who seemed to keep the three of them in line was Molly Prewett, their beautiful, fiery elder sister. Honestly, Alice didn't blame them, Molly was usually caring and tolerant but when she ticked off, blimey the best thing to do was steer clear of the frightening girl. At the moment, the trio were engaged in a serious discussion, no doubt plotting their first prank of the term. Molly had already boarded the train with her boyfriend Arthur Weasley, the fifth year prefect for Gryffindor. "Alice have you gotten everything? Maybe you should board the train." Her father suggested on arriving. "Rose will be here any minute, you can spend the train ride together." She was hesitant but she decided to give in to the idea. So Alice hugged her parents goodbye and went inside to find a compartment for the two girls.

Rose had held off packing till the very last minute. Don't get her wrong, she was excited for the future. However, that didn't stop her from worrying. What house would she be sorted into? Would she make friends easily? She spent the last few days at home pondering her life at Hogwarts. Right now, the task she solely focused on was shoving up all her clothes into the trunk before she crossed her mother. Lucille had kept reminding Rose to pack early and be done with it but Rose being Rose, would procrastinate as much as she could. She moved with supernatural speed, rolling a red jumper before throwing it in the suitcase. As a fashion enthusiast, Rose loved her clothes very much and she hated ruining them with the lack of gentleness. It wasn't like she had an alternate choice, her priority right now was to finish packing (in a minute or two) before her mother walked in and grounded her for the rest of her life.
