AN: Hi there! Hope you're all doing well. So just a quick note about this chapter. I know that the title is probably controversial but as you finish the chapter, you will understand the title completely. BTW, another Malfoy who has no beginner's luck with Quidditch is Draco (from the books). I love Draco from fanfics (especially Dramione) but tbh, he is just a bully in the HP books. He has the latest brooms but no skill. Hermione is right in the Chamber of Secrets.
"Have you ever imagined what life would be if you were a Malfoy?" Alice asked with fascination as a bunch of Slytherin girls walked by them.
"I am a Malfoy!" Rose deadpanned. All the scenarios where Rose had imagined herself to be a pureblood fanatic ended horribly for her. Besides, her mum had already described the lifestyle purebloods lived and honestly, apart from lavish dressing, nothing else seemed appealing to her. The very thought of having to live with prats like Abraxas and Lucius was enough to make the girl shudder. Looking away from the Slytherin table, Rose decided to focus on her toast. But those dresses, Rose groaned internally. She would kill for fashion, not literally though, she corrected her conscious. She would try her best to be conscious for the environment, just like Grams had taught her. She wouldn't be caught dead in a 100% leather jacket or animal fur for that matter. But yes, she would kill, she would die and she would save up all of her money to buy chic clothes.
"Well, not really." Rose tilted her head in question, slightly amused."Not with all that chocolate around your nose." Alice said feigning indignation. Rose just rolled her eyes playfully. Finishing the last bit of her breakfast she stood up ready to leave the hall with Alice and her friends. A week had passed since they had all arrived at Hogwarts. She was having a great time exploring Hogwarts. The last week has been unreal, Rose thought as she walked down the hallway with Alice and her friends. Unlike Alice, Rose was a little behind on bonding with people from her house. The Ravenclaw's seemed wary around her and Rose had her suspicion as to why it was that way. While she wasn't completely sure that was the reason, she knew she would figure it out sooner or later. For now, she did what she usually does best (albeit with bit of difficulty), Rose focused on the positive. Alice was talking to Mary as they walked, Lily had her face buried in a book. Marlene was walking up to the girls from the opposite direction. Rose couldn't help but smile when she saw Marlene's Cheshire Cat grin.Fortunately for her, she was glad to have the Gryffindor girls. She already knew Mary and Lily was so easy to get along with. The redhead was bubbly and smart, Rose and her immediately bonded over muggle books. They had spent most of their time in the Hogwarts library, giggling and reading anything and everything they could find. They would talk about spending the summer holidays going to muggle London, sitting in tiny café's and visiting muggle parks. They both seemed to like cats and Lily would often talk about her sister. Unlike Alice, Rose didn't have the "pleasure" to meet Petunia. Something told her that the opportunity would present itself soon.
Marlene now stood beside Rose, casually throwing her arm around the brunette as they continued walking to the Quidditch pitch.
"Did you know that there has never been a first year on the Quidditch team?" She asked. "Like not one bloody first year on any team!"
"Well, it's a dangerous game."Lily sighed, nervous for their first Quidditch lesson. "It's probably just precautionary."
"Neville's trying out for the team this year, along with George and Gideon." Alice commented.
"Blimey are they any good?" Lily asked curiously. She had shut her book as they had now neared the pitch. The redhead might not have ever watched Quidditch but she made sure she read all about it. She had even asked Rose to explain the game to her.
"Good? They're bloody amazing!" Rose exclaimed. She played Quidditch with Neville and his friends. Despite all the times she tried teaching Alice, the girl decided that it simply wasn't her sport. Rose on the other hand, had fallen in love with the sport. She was a chaser and her favourite team was Puddlemore United. Although she loved the game, it didn't automatically make her good. She was a clumsy girl and her clumsiness had been the reason for many of her falls. One time she fell so hard, she had injured her hand and Mrs Longbottom had to rush her to St Mungo's. She was banned from playing Quidditch for a week after that.
