Ch. III: I synántisi [The meeting]

It's been two years since Harry began his stay at Pendragon Castle. He learned many things from Merlin; all of them interesting. Merlin and Arthur always tell him that he's a bookworm since when he has free time he goes to the library while they catch up. The library in Pendragon Castle was beautiful. It had so many magical books that he couldn't read them in a lifetime. Merlin instructed him which book he could and couldn't read. He was young and only beginning to learn magic.

Harry has an amazing memory, so he can read and talk more than a regular seven-year-old. A year ago, Merlin and Arthur took him to Nicholas Flamel and his wife, Perenelle Flamel. They are an old couple who live in the French countryside. Although, as a six-year-old, he couldn't do any magic, he still watched the couple make potions for the magical creatures in France.

"Potions are something you need to learn. They are an amazing craft that has plenty of uses. Salazar Slytherin was amazing at potions," Nicholas informed him.

"Salazar Slytherin? One of the founders of Hogwarts?" Harry asked, staring at the bubbling potion.

"Yes, a prodigy in potions," He said, patting Harry's head, "Potions can be lethal. You could make a poison with potions just like using a spell. It really depends on the user."

Harry blinked before slowly nodding. For a year, Harry often visited Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel's house since Merlin wanted him to learn the theory of magic before the practical. Merlin encourages him to read even more books; making him spend more time in the library like Merlin. It makes Arthur roll his eyes, but Merlin counters his arguments.

"He doesn't have anyone else to talk to. Let him be. Besides, we're here for him."

Merlin called him to his study on his seventh birthday. "I'm going to teach you Charms, Herbology, Old Traditions, Old Magic, Rune Magic, History, Arithmancy, Astronomy. If you show any aptitude for the art of Divination then I will teach you that. I will also teach you the Care of Magical Creatures, Wards, Protection Magic, Music, Arts, Offensive Magic, and Mind Magic. Oh! Also Transfiguration and Defensive Magic," Merlin listed off.

"I will teach you how to handle blades, riding, Archery, and languages," Arthur said.

"I'm going to teach you death magic and how to control magical creatures," DEATH informed.

"You must promise to listen to our instructions clearly - don't break any of the rules we set for you," Merlin said firmly.

"I will," Harry promised. Every day made him tired, but content with the knowledge he learned. He learned much of the old traditions. It helped him with his pure raw magic since he's not forcing it out like the other wizards.

He also began staying with Nicholas to help him make potions on weekends. It's best to make potions once someone sets an order for them. Besides, he always saw a bunch of magical creatures coming to the shop so he learned from them.

It was delightful especially as he learned how to ride a horse. He felt thrilled and free. Arthur taught him how to handle the horses as they run through the woods; the chill wind slapping them in their face. When they finally went back to the castle, Harry was bouncing up and down, telling Merlin about the experience.

"It's nothing compared to a dragon, right, Merlin?" Arthur smirked.

"Arthur!" Merlin glared at him. Harry gasped and looked at the wizard with wide eyes, making Merlin sigh. "Yes, a dragon. Someday, we could go to a dragon nest, but for now, learn to handle horses first."

"Awesome!" Harry grinned.

For a year, Merlin taught him the art of meditation and Occlumency. It was important to protect his mind and he intended to have it carved into his mind. Harry always meditated to organize his mind before he went to sleep. Today, he woke up in his mindscape. As he looked around, he noticed that he was in an old study room with someone sitting on a chair staring at him in shock.
