Over the next week Derek and Meredith had been texting, trying to plan a day where Derek could meet Ellyse. It had been a long time coming and Meredith felt ready to introduce him to her, he should have been there from the beginning but he weren't and that was her fault. Today, they were meeting and Derek wanted to make his daughter as comfortable as possible so they decided that he would come around to their apartment so that the young girl had some familiarity. They had planned for him to come around at 4pm because Alex had taken Ellyse out.

Meredith hasn't told her daughter what was happening yet but she was nervous at how she would react. She was usually quite shy and as attached to Meredith as she could be, but she had a feeling that Ellyse would pick up on the similar features between her and Derek, after all they were very alike. Scott didn't like the idea of Derek being in their apartment, he had told Meredith that he had ulterior motives and that he didn't trust him around her or Ellyse.

"I don't get what your problem is?" Meredith sighed as she fought back with Scott.

"If you don't see it then your dumber than I thought. I don't want him here Meredith!" He shouted back.

"That's not your decision to make, he's her father and like it or not that's never going to change."

"This is my apartment too!"

She rolled her eyes, "really? I had no idea."

"Don't be an ass Meredith." He scrunched his face.

"Your the one being an ass. Derek hasn't done anything wrong so what's the problem with him being here?"

"He's still in love with you Meredith!" He shouted.

Meredith looked at him, her words currently lost as she shook her head.

"He's not. He has Addison." She said quietly.

"Maybe but he still loves you. I saw the way he was looking at you in the coffee shop last week." He sighed, his hand scratching his stubble.

"He- your being ridiculous Scott. Me and Derek are over, we have been since I was 18." She told him.

"Whatever Meredith." He rolled his eyes.

"You don't believe me?" She scoffed.

"No. No I don't believe you, because I'm a guy and I saw the way he was looking at you and I'm the only one who should be looking at you that way." He spat.

"What, so your calling me a liar? You think I'm having some dirty secret affair with him?" She was getting angry.

"I never said that. Don't put words in my mouth Meredith." He paced.

Meredith sighed and picked at her fingers trying to calm herself down.

"Look, he's Ell's father not you, I'm not doing this for any other reason other than for her. She deserves to have him around." She sighed.

"I know I'm not her father, you've made that pretty clear since you saw him again but this isn't fair to me."

"This has nothing to do with you though!" She snapped back, she was getting tired.

"It has everything to do with me Meredith, I'm the man that's been in her life, she knows-" she stopped him.

"You've been in her life for a year, you think that makes you some replacement father?" She scoffed.

"No I don't, but this is my life that's being disturbed too."

"Whatever, just go." She told him.

"What?" He asked in shock.
