Chapter 10: The High Alpha

Cerri's POV 

Someone started yelling making my eyes snap open. I look around to find my grandma and mom cornering Casey. "Both of you leave him alone."

My mom and grandma look at me as I sit up. "You know this wizard?"

I nod. "Yes, I called him here to help protect us."

Both growled at me. "We can protect ourselves."

I sigh. "You guys don't get it. I can't fight. Von is out there fighting. All our men are out there fighting. You think running is going to keep us safe?"

They stop growling for a second before sighing. "Sorry, we didn't think about it."

Why didn't they think about it? We stayed behind cause we were fighters. Well they did. "Please leave my friend Casey alone. He put a spell around this place so only we can get in and out."

My mom walks over and sits next to me. "I'm sorry sweety, we should trust you since you are the alpha."

I sigh as I look at Casey. "I better have you meet the rest of the pack that's here so we don't have any more misunderstandings."

He gives a little smile. "That would be nice. I don't want to be killed."

I stand up and yawn. Casey takes my hand as we walk to the door. He lets me lean against him as we walked down the hall. "I'm sorry about my grandma and mom. They are a bit over protective right now."

He chuckles. "I will be too. You have a new life growing inside you. That and I still care about you."

I smile as we get to the stairs. "Only way you would have a chance is if Von was dead."

He smirks. "You never know. There's a war going on out there."

I glare at him. "Don't joke about that."

He puts his hands up. "It was only a joke. He's fine out there, if he's like how you described him."

I smile softly. "He is how I described him and more."

He chuckles. "The mate stuff really does change you people when your accepted."

I roll my eyes. "If I wasn't pregnant I would hit you so hard right now."

He smiles my favorite smile of his. "Okay, so you don't change...much."

I sigh. "You are such a smart ass. Hope my little ones see pass it like I do."

He chuckles as we walk down the stairs. A few growls came from around as we get to the bottom of the stairs. I look around at the women growling. "Stop growling at my guest. This is Casey. He will be here to help us while our men are at war. Pass the word to the rest of the pack and no one mess with him or you will be in a lot of trouble."

All the women stop growling and stare at him. "But alpha he is a wizard."

I laugh as I look at Casey. "Yes he is and he took care of me not long after I left Luke's pack."

Casey wraps his arms over my shoulder. "Yeah I watched her till she got control of her pack then went off to finish up some training I had to do."

I smile at him. "Everyone think of Casey as family."

Some of the women mumble to themselves before walking a way. I give there backs death glares before Casey and me head back up the stairs. "If anyone gives you a hard time, tell me."

He gives a little nod. We walk down the hall as my mind drifts off to Von.

Von's POV

The high alpha's castle comes into view after running for 10 days. I finally made it here. Now I just need to get an audience with the alpha so I can be on my way back to Cerri. I walk towards the front gate to be met by 4 guards.
