Chapter 14: So Close

Cerri's POV

We had just entered South Dakota when Casey made me pull over. The babies were hungry and so was everyone else. Fin and Casey went over to a convenience store while Louise, Eric, the babies and me sat in the car.

I move to the back seat and feed the babies. Alex got to feed first. When she was done I handed her to Louise. She started giving a hissy fit in his arms. I took her from him and handed her to Eric for a second to see what she would do.

Eric and her stared at each other. I smiled when she just stared at Eric amazed. Louise grabs Skyler while I grab Leo. Skyler smiles at Louise making him smile. "Skyler really likes you."

He looks up at me. "He reminds me of the kids I would watch sometimes."

I smile lightly. "I could see you with a child of your own. Wanting to give them all your attention."

He half smiles. "I had a mate that was pregnant, but I don't know what happened to her."

I look down as Leo finishes feeding. "I'm sorry. You must wonder what your baby looked like."

He smiles softly at Skyler and nods. "Yes, I always wonder what he or she looked like."

I put Leo in his arms and take Skyler. "Do you know if your mate is dead or alive?"

He shakes his head as he smiles at Leo's wiggling body. "No, but I have a feeling she is alive."

 I put a hand on his shoulder as I let Skyler feed. "After we find Von, we will go look for her."

He smiles and puts a hand on mine. "Thanks sis."

I smile. "Anything for family."

He looks down at Leo sound a sleep in his arms. "He's out for the night."

I giggle as Skyler finishes feeding. "That's good. I get to have a break."

He puts Leo in his car seat takes Skyler from me. I feel my eyes getting a bit heavy as I yawn. "Where are thous two? I want to get back on the road."

Louise chuckles and looks out the window as I take Alex out of Eric's sleeping arms. I put her in her car seat then hold Eric's sleeping body in my arms. "They should be back any second."

I nod my head as I snuggle up with Eric and close my eyes. "Alright."

My eyes open when I feel the car moving. I sit up and look around. "Why is the car moving?"

Fin chuckles next to me. "Casey took the wheel when we found you sound a sleep."

I look over at the driver seat to see Casey there. A smile appears on my face as I see Louise sound a sleep in the passenger seat. "How long was I a sleep?"

Fin rubs the back of his neck. "10 hours."

I look at him amazed. "Didn't the babies wake up crying?"

He nods. "That's why Louise is sound a sleep. He kept them calm and help them feed."

I blush a bit. "I'll have to thank him when he wakes up."

Fin chuckles and wraps an arm around me where I'm laying my head on his chest. "You should sleep some more."

I smile a bit and close my eyes. "Okay."

As I layed there I let my mind relax. I open my mind link. 'CERRI! ANSWER ME ALREADY!'

I couldn't help but jump a bit. Fin pet my head making me calm down. 'Eric you scared me.'
