A/N: Hi guys! Welcome to my story :b it is currently and slowly being edited but please stay with me :) I know the first chapter is bad but it gets better so please try to stick around. Oh and don't be a silent reader :) be warned however. This story contains graphic languages and material that may be offensive to some people.
My name is Taylor Greigh, but now a days I go by Nova.. For security reasons. It's currently the year 2014 and the world has gone to hell.. Not that it wasn't already, between the memes, the trash music and all the social drama I think we kinda deserved this. Around the middle of the year they sent out a global broadcast warning everyone of an outbreak of 'zombies' and yeah I didn't believe it. No one did. We all just thought it was a rouse to distract us from something bigger, boy were we wrong. Around September was my first encounter with the zombies who we now refer to as biter -so it's not so cliché- and my whole world ended, now here I am fighting for my life with a heavy ass Katana and dirty clothes. Oh joy.
Currently I am raiding a school with a few stranger who were kind enough to let me in on some of the goods. I picked up some discarded juice boxes and scrap paper. What a mess. I could hear the groans of the biters from outside the walls safety, and it sent a shiver down my spine. I bent down to pick a photo lying on the ground. The photo was of two girls with their arms around each other beaming brightly at the camera. I wonder what happened to them... If they were okay.. I didn't know these girls but they had a life and they didn't deserve this cruelty.
"Run!" I heard someone scream from down the hall. In the same moment I heard blood curdling screams then I saw it. Biters. Lots of them. I turn and ran grabbing my backpack and Sprinting down the corridors and out the front doors of the school I was leaving behind the men and not looking back. I couldn't spare feelings for anyone. All I could focus on was getting home and grabbing my family before bolting and not looking back. I'm lucky I didn't live far from the school I was in and my street was just up ahead.
"No biters so far" I mumbled out loud. I wasn't really surprise at the attack on the school I mean the outbreak has been on the news for a while, but I didn't see why no biters could be seen now. I approached my street and strayed to run faster. I needed them to alright.. Even after what they did. Even after they abandoned me. I hope they were still alive.
"Mom! Dad!" I yelled as I ran up the stairs to my house and into living room grabbing my handgun off the shelf above the fireplace. I heard a growl and turned around to see the re-animated corpses of my mother and father.
"Mom... Dad..." I whispered out pained. I let a sob out of my mouth, but I knew what I had to do.
"I'm sorry..." I whispered as I swung the pain in the ass of a katana.
I grabbed my pocket knife shoved it in my boot and was off without a second though. I headed into town trying to avoid biters as I went and came upon a gas station I walked over to the doors and shot the biters standing outside the door not bothering with my katana. I opened the doors only to see it was already abandoned by all living inhabitants. Shooting a few more Biters to get further inside I stuffed my pockets full of the remaining energy bars on the shelf. I continued to make my way towards the back of the store. Without hearing a sound I felt a hand on my shoulder. Immediately I thought biter and assumed the worst. I spun around Gun aimed for its head realizing it's a man not biter aged around his fifties to sixties.
"Woah there miss I mean you no harm" he said in a hesitant voice, his white hair stuck to his forehead by a thin layer of sweat.
"W-who are you" I said my voice stuttering. Stupid voice.
"My name is Chase and like I said before I mean you no harm."
He spoke with his hands up in defence. I lowered my Gun and took a step back holding out my hand.
"My name is Taylor Greigh, but please call me Nova" I said as he took my hand in a firm hand shake. I don't know why I decided to tell him my first name.. I guess it was he seemed trust worthy.
