New Life

Soul and I sat in that cell for who knows how long before he finally spoke up.
"Uh... Do you want to meet one of my great friends?" He asked trying to start a conversation. I didn't know if I was allowed out of here, so I was a bit hesitant.
"Um.., sure Soul" I said looking down at my bare feet. Souls face lit up and he started going on about his friend while grabbing handcuffs off the table
"-and she is just about our height! She has fire ombré hair and she is the most out-going person you would ever meet!" He gushed walking over to me with the handcuffs.
"One, Why the handcuffs? Two, you sound like you like her.." I said.. Saying it out loud kinda made me feel like I had just had all the energy drained out of me.
"Well the handcuffs are for you because they probably won't let you roam free without them, and no I don't like her! We are just really good friends...besides I think I like someone else.." He said the last bit shyly meeting my eyes. Blushing I looked down and held out my hands for the handcuffs. I don't know why I blushed, I think it's 'cause I'm not used to talking the guys my age.
Soul attached them but he didn't do it too tightly like the other man. Soul did it just enough so I couldn't get my hands out.
"Let's go Shorty" he said and I playfully glared at him. Excuse him, I am 5'7!
"How dare you?! I am only a bit shorter than you! It's not my fault your a giant!" I said in an offended voice. He laughed and opened the door leading me through the confusing hallway up a bunch of steps to where he opened a door. I made sure to collect my surroundings and make note so for when I break out I can find my way out faster. I was blinded by the brightness of the sunny day. I squinted my eyes and waited to adjust, while still squinting Soul moved me along.
I finally adjusted and what I saw kind of amazed me. I saw a whole community of people working together in harmony, not the evil people who threw me in a dark cell. A group of small children ran by giggling and Soul led me through a bunch of friendly looking adults until he approached a girl with fiery hair. This must be his friend.
"Nova, this is Clara. Pronounced like Car but with an A, and a L" he said laughing slightly rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Hello there!" She said politely and held out her hand for me to shake.
"Uh.." I droned and lifted my arms gesturing to the handcuffs.
"Soul! What kind of sick joke is this?!" She yelled thumping him on the head. Soul let out a Yelp and backed away with his hands up in surrender.
"She is a prisoner!.. Uh Um I mean Jason captured her and a couple of her friends.., but they escaped." He said as I ducked my head down to look at my still bare feet. It's kinda cold.
"Oh... Well I'm sorry about that, our 'protectors' can get out of hand.." She said sarcastically and gave me and apologetic look and Soul wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
"Don't worry! This girl is a fighter!" He said as my face filled with blush. Please release me peasant. This is too close.
"U-uh yeah.." I stuttered and I removed his arm from me. Clara smiled like the Chesar Cat at the two of us.
"Oh~ I see what's going on here!" She giggled and winked at the two of us. Both Soul and I quickly jumped away from each other, but to my clumsy luck I tripped over my shadow and fell. Soul burst out laughing while I blushed furiously and tried to get up. It's actually kind of hard when your in handcuffs.
"Oh gosh" Clara said laughing slightly and coming to help me up. After getting upright I thanked her and kicked soul in the shin lightly to make him stop laughing. Butt head.
"Why don't we get some of the other kids together and play truth or dare, you know. Get some fun in these dreary days." Clara suggested and I shrugged while Soul let out a small 'whoop'. Sigh, boys.
"Alright! I'll go get the others while you undo her cuffs!" She yelled running off towards a group of kids by a large group of teens poking at walkers through a fence.
"B-but Clara!" He yelled but then sighed and came over to undo the handcuffs. I thought I wasn't allowed them off? What's the sudden change of heart? Once the cuffs were off I let out a sound of Joy and did a weird happy dance not caring who was watching.
After a few seconds I stopped and met souls gaze realizing he was closer than I expected. A blush started to fill my cheeks again.. Gosh why do I keep blushing! Soul took a step closer and moved my hair behind my ear. "You know your really beautiful right?" He said seeming like he was in a daze. Stay in your lane boy... I'm not looking for a Boyfriend.
"Quite making out and come play!" Someone beside Clara yelled at us and Soul quickly jumped back and led me towards them.
