Akward Encounters

Me and soul walked to together avoiding looking at each other at all costs. As we get closer I notice Clara looks upset, souls must have noticed it too because in a second he was at her side.
"Clara? Are you alright? You look upset. Is everything okay?" He asked frantically
"Soul, I'm fine. Just leave me be." She snapped and dashed off to a room across from us. Soul look at us then dashed off after her. I stood there awkwardly with the group for a while feeling self conscious in my outfit.
"So..." I said casually trying to make things less awkward.
"Oh how rude we never introduced ourselves! I'm Jacklyn" said the girl with curly blond hair
"And those two are Cody and Benjamin" she said pointing to the red head first then the blonde.
"You guys coming or not?!" Cody yelled.
"Just a minute!" Soul yelled back
"Your cute, what's your name?" Benjamin asked smirking at me.
"Not interested Benny Boy" I said rolling my eyes and Cody laughed
"You just got plain put Rejected!" He yelled and I blushed slightly.
"I'll just go see how Clara is.." I ran over to the two of them and saw Clara crying.
"Uh... Ev-everything o-okay?" I stuttered out.
"I don't know Nova, Clara is really upset and won't tell me why" he said looking bothered by that. Man he really must care about her, that's adorable!
"Guys really, I-I'm fine" Clara said and I know then she is lying.
"Clara, 'I'm Fine' always means you not fine." I stated. I should know. She continues sobbing and I put my hand on her shoulder looking at Soul for help.
"I just hurt my head. I'm fine!" Ugh that word again.
"Clara!" Soul and I yell at the same time glancing at each other before turning back to Clara.
"I'm serious. I'm fine. I... just had a little meltdown." She smiles, I can tell it's fake though but I ignore it. She is blushing heavily but is still pretty pale..is that possible?..yeah.. I think it is.
"Soul can you... leave the room for a minute. Please?" Clara asks him.
"Uh okay...if you want. I'll be with the kids." Soul looks at me and gives me small nod. Soul slowly makes his way out of the room. I turn back to Clara and look into her red swollen eyes.
"What is it Clara?" I ask slowly.
"Nova, I need to talk to you." Clara said meeting my gaze
"What about?" I asked
"I didn't get the chance to properly introduce myself." She said calming down a little
"Okay..who goes first..?" I questioned
"I don't know. I'm really bad at greeting people. I'm so awkward.." She said looking down.
"Me too, anyway tell me about your past before the outbreak" I said trying to start up something.
"Well, my parents were... okay I guess. I never saw them. They were always at a party or at work. You?" I nodded at her response but froze when she asked about my past.
"They were.. Bad, but I don't like to talk about it." I muttered.
"That's okay. Um.. Who were your friends?" She asked.
"Oh... them, they're Clementine and Chase." I said thinking about where they might be right now.
"Okay... Did you know Soul before the outbreak?" She questioned
"No, he help me through my Imprisonment. You?" I said trying to play it casual.
"Uh yeah.., he was my best friend." She said. That makes sense, I mean they seem to be really close.
"Did you ever, well you know, kiss Soul?" She asked and I froze.
"Oh, uh N-no I haven't. Why? Have you?" I stuttered blushing.
"No I haven't, I was just curious.." She said lowly.
"You don't sound to sure.." I said.
"Trust me. I'm sure" she said sounding a bit upset.
"Nova, be honest. Do you like soul?" She questioned me looking dead into my eyes.
"Me? Oh uhh... I-I don't know Clara. I th-think I do, but don't tell him okay?" I blushed furiously stuttering out my sentence.
"Oh, okay I won't tell him." She said.
"You sound upset, you okay? And why were you crying before? What aren't you telling us?" I questioned.
"Never mind that. So how did yo-" I cut her off.
"Tell me." I demanded.
"There's nothing to tell! I am fine!" She yelled.
"Tell me!" I demanded back.
"I saw you get really close to soul!" She yelled back and I froze. This is what this is all about?
"You saw that?" I question quietly.
"Yes, Yes I did." She said sounding upset again.
"D-do you like Soul Clara?" I questioned feeling like I had been punched.
"I-I don't know. Please don't tell him." She said frantically.
"Trust me. I won't." I said feeling down, but pushed it aside.
"Thank you!" she said.
"No problem." I said smiling.
Someone peeked their head through the door.
"What ya ladies talking about?" Soul asked.
"Stuff" me and Clara said.
"Okay.. I'm trusting you guys." He said and smirked.
"Now let's go play!" He yelled excitedly.
"First lets get Nova changed" Clara smiled and grabbed my hand pulling me up. She shooed Soul out of the room and led me to a little closet and started throwing stuff at me.
After a moment I heard the door creak open again and I could see Souls eyes through the crack of the door. Good thing I'm not changing yet.
"Soul! Out!" I yelled and he quickly retreated.
"Later we can smuggle your weapons and bag back. At least be thankful you still have your Necklace and Bracelet." She said after she was done I quickly got changed.

"I feel like such a bad ass!" I exclaimed smiling brightly flexing my hand feeling my fingerless gloves. And putting on my glasses.
"Well you look like one. Let's go!" She said opening the door and heading out leaving me trailing behind her waiting a moment before stepping out the door."
