Granger noticed Hetty was looking a little distant after their latest case.
'Something eating you?' He asked.
'Just thinking about what our suspect said today about the hidden scars we keep inside.' Hetty replied, sipping her tea.
'Personal matter?'
'We all have scars that we hide inside. I know I definitely have a lot. And, I also have scars that have faded overtime, but the pain still feels like it exists whenever someone touches them. There's 1 in particular... (touching her left side close to her breast), This part right here? I was stabbed in this area by someone who I thought was my friend. The scar faded years ago, but I still feel the pain each time someone touches this area.'
'I'm really sorry. Is that why you always feel uncomfortable whenever I touch that small area?' Granger kindly asked.
'Yes. (walking towards him). I know you're not that person, but the ache of betrayal never really seems to fade.'
'I know what you mean. After what Kim's mother did to me, I wanted to just avoid relationships altogether. Sure I got lonely for someone every once in a while, but it didn't mean anything. Then (holding her hand), then you came back into my life and made me comfortable with wanting to be in a relationship again.'
Hetty felt very touched by his kind words.
Gently rubbing his shoulder. 'Well, you're the one who came back into my life in the most unexpected way, and made me feel special overtime, and let me feel okay with revealing my personal scars to someone, and a lot of other things. You don't have to reveal all of your hidden scars to me if you don't want to.' Hetty replied.
'And you don't have to do the same as well. I know there's a lot you either can't or don't want to reveal, and I respect that.
'And that (leaning forward) is 1 of many reasons why I love you.'
'I thought it was because you love my musk.'
'Oh you... (chuckle). 'Then they kissed.
'Oh wow! Wow! Can't you both do that in private?!' Deeks exclaimed.
'Hey! We don't say a word about you and Blye kissing at work, why should you bother us for doing the same thing?' Granger asked.
'Good point, good point.' Then Deeks left.
'Nice job handling that.' Hetty said. 'Now where were we?'
'Well, we were kissing and we were interrupted. And judging by that look in your eyes, you want to kiss again?'
'Oh yes!' Then they went back to kissing.
