"Are you hungry sweetheart?" Natasha asked as the movie ended.
"Sauce?" Wanda perked up.
"You like applesauce, huh?" The woman smiled indulgently but said, "Little girls need more than applesauce though. You think you'd want to go upstairs and have dinner with the team?"
They usually gathered on the floor that Sam and Steve lived on for dinner, taking turns making meals. Tonight it was Sam's turn if she remembered correctly. Big Wanda had never been up to eat with them so she was not surprised when little Wanda looked worried, shaking her head no to the suggestion. Natasha tried to convinced her, "It will be really yummy."
"No, bad." Wanda uttered quietly.
"No one is bad, detka. I promise everyone is really nice." Nat soothed.
"No, bad." The little said again but this time pointed to herself and the woman realized what she was worried about.
"You're not bad, darling. Are you scared they will be upset from before?" The Widow asked but Wanda just chewed on her lip so she continued, "It's alright. No one will be mad at you. How about we go up and if you really don't like it we'll come back down here. You think you can do that, detka?"
After a pause of her thinking, Wanda finally agreed with some lingering wariness, "Kay."
"Okay, good." Nat smiled encouragingly, "Where's your paci?"
Wanda revealed she had it balled up in her fist and clumsy got it back into her mouth. Natasha stood with her in her arms but the little witch wriggled to be let down. Instead she took Nat's hand to walk over to the elevator for just the ride one floor up.
When the door dinged open, they walked out to find all of the team already gathering around the table. Rhodey, Tony and Pepper were already sitting while Sam and Steve brought serving dishes to the table along with Vision who joined them for meals though did not need to eat himself. The Black Widow greeted them, "Hey guys, what's for dinner?"
"Chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans." Sam informed them.
"Sounds good." Natasha turned to Wanda who was hiding behind her shoulder. "Sound good, detka?"
Wanda nodded and let herself be led to a seat at the table. Nat took her to the chair next to Pepper, "How about you sit by Pepper and I'll sit on your other side?"
The Stark CEO nodded happily, getting the impression that the girl needed some encouragement, "I'd love it if you sat next to me Wanda."
"Kay." The little settled in the seat, Nat once again pushing her in snugly against the table to keep her stable. Natasha started to prepare a plate for her, shredding the chicken and chopping the green beans as she talked lightly to her.
"Wanda you remember everyone? Steve, Sam, Tony, Pepper, Rhodey and Vision?"
Wanda tugged on her pacifier as she looked around the table, her eyes landing on Vision. She stared at the man though more with curiosity than wariness. Natasha gently pulled the pacifier from her mouth, setting it within her reach though as she placed the plate full of food in front of the girl. As soon as the pacifier was removed, the little declared, "Red."
"Yeah, Vision is red. That's pretty cool, huh?"
Vision gave her a smile and waved his fingers at her. A small, shy smile appeared on Wanda's face and she waved back. Nat watched the interaction with amusement and pulled the little's attention back to her with a bite of mashed potatoes. Wanda took a moment to feel the food in her mouth then hummed, "Mmm.."
