The Fear of Loving - A Kaimelia Love Story

Part 1

Amelia slowly stirred after what can only be described as the best night of her life. Flashes of that passionate night played over in her head and a red blush travels up her neck and a smile forms on her face. She'd been with both men and women and don't get me wrong they did it for her and, in some cases very well, but Kai was...different, definitely good different though.They were equal parts attentive and selfish, they were loving and sweet but also rough and hot, and what they could do was extraordinary. Kai was the best lover and gave her the best sex of her life, no one else even came close, especially not Link.

She realised the arm that was draped over her all night was missing and so was the person attached to said arm. Normally, this would send Amelia into a state of panic and uncertainty but Amelia was in strange peaceful state. Then the smell came eggs, bacon, pancakes, sausages and a number of others. Kai strolled into their bedroom and leaned on the doorframe basking in Amelia's vast beauty. Amelia looked them up and down taking in their sculpted figure clothed in a black tank top and shorts.
"Hey, is that breakfast I can smell" she asks.
"10 points for deduction, Shepherd." Kai chuckles. "Well, come on then,"
"Umm, i'm kinda naked" Amelia states as Kai raises an eyebrow to show they think something along the lines of no shit sherlock.
"What, it's not like i haven't seen it before." Kai laughs as Amelia playfully throws a pillow at them. "Rindy decided that your clothes needed a little fur so they're washed and in the dryer and you can have this." They say as they chuck a clean shirt out a drawer to Amelia. She starts to put the shirt on but orders Kai to leave the room and they give in and walk into the kitchen after stealing one last look.

Kai soon feels arms wrap around their waist and a kiss on the back of their neck. "Sit down, breakfasts almost ready."
Amelia slumps down in one of the cushioned chairs as Kai places down plates of food in front of her. "Wasn't sure what you wanted so here you go sweet and savoury" as they point towards the bacon, eggs, and sausage and the waffles next to the bowls of fruit. "Thank you, very much, babe," Amelia says with a kiss.
"Ohhhh, I'm babe now am I?" Kai grins.
Amelia slaps Kai's arm playfully as she says "Of course, baaaaaabe"

After finishing a breakfast fit for a King or Queen in Amelia's case, they sit and cuddle together on Kai's couch. Amelia snuggles into Kai's muscular body as they drape their arms around her.

"So, do you whip out the guitar for anyone or just me?" Kai chuckles wryly at Amelia. "What, you did kinda write an incredible song and then sing it to me looking incredibly sexy, as always. God, you are full of surprises I mean you're some sort of rock star, guitar playing god" Kai rolls their eyes at Amelia saying this.

"Hardly, a friend of mine gave me a guitar to try and cure my fear of public speaking and I fell in love with playing and then later found a love for singing."
"Did it cure your fear?"
Kai chuckles lowly "Nope, the one fear I can't kick, I mean when I get up on stage and play guitar something changes and i feel...confident and different to when I'm speaking in front of people, if that makes sense."
"Yeah, it's kind of like when I do my superhero pose, all my thoughts clear and all I can think of is the surgery"
"Ahh, so I'm a rockstar and you're a superhero, seems like a match made in heaven."

Amelia smiles at this but slowly the smile fades as she realises that they should probably talk about the humongous amount of problems facing their relationship, if it even is a relationship. Kai holds Amelia slightly tighter and simply says "It is a relationship, Amelia"
"Wait, what...how do you-"
"Know what you're thinking, because I am, let me guess you're thinking about the distance, Scout, Link, and whether this is a relationship or just us hooking up." Kai explains.
"Kai, I like you, I like you a lot but you have to admit that there are lot of hurdles we have to face,"
"Yes, but there is nothing to tell us that we can't get through that together, and I'll give you an answer to a couple questions"
"Kai, you don't have to" Amelia says while Kai smiles as if to say I want to.
Kai starts to speak "Number 1, we are in a relationship if you want that," Amelia nods at this "Ok, good, then I would love for you to be my girlfriend. Number 2, I love kids and I can already tell Im going to love Scout simply because of those chubby cheeks" Amelia laughs at that "Number 3, long distance relationships can work and we will still see each other at least every two weeks and this" Kai points to their phone "Is a great invention where we can call and speak to each other or we can go old school and write letters speaking in great detail of flowers we saw that reminded me of your bright light" Both Kai and Amelia laugh at this and Amelia turns around to place a sweet kiss on Kai's cheek.
"You are amazing" Amelia whispers
"You are even more amazing" Kai whispers back. Amelia yawns, probably because she only got to sleep at about 5am due to vigorous physical activity, if you get what i mean.
"Do you mind if we sleep for a bit, you wore me out a bit." Amelia winks.
"Of course, babe" Amelia smiles at this. Kai and Amelia reposition themselves on the large couch and eventually settle on a position (not in that way, well not this time at least). Amelia
faces the back the couch, while Kai is the big spoon wrapping their arms around her and nestling their face into Amelia's lavender scented hair. They hold hands with Amelia who brings their joined hands close to her heart and kisses Kai's hand then returns it near to her heart. It seems as though Amelia's heart glows and grows in size along with Kai's.

After sleeping for a good couple of hours they both wake up in each other's arms as Amelia turns around to face Kai as they peppers kisses on her face and then trails down her neck and eventually down at her collar bone and down towards their stomach until Amelia pulls Kai up so they are face to face. She starts to speak and says something that made Kai go crazy with passion "Are there any good burger places here?"
"Now, now Shepherd saying that in Minnesota might just get you attacked by Juicy Lucy lovers." Amelia raises her eyebrow at this before Kai continues "No it is not a euphemism, get your head out the gutter. It's a staple of Minnesota cuisine, it's basically a cheeseburger but the cheese is actually inside the meat and not on top. People get very overprotective over them"
"Well then looks like we'll just have to go try one"

A/N: So I'm British, I know right, i'm just off to get a bo'oh o' wa'er, so yeah according to the Internet a Juicy Lucy is what Minnesota people love. Also, this is one of my very first books I've written so please give any comments negative or positive.
