Later in that Day

Amelia had just dropped Scout off at the nursery and told the person in charge to make sure Link doesn't see Scout. She'd also called the police and ordered a restraining order against Link. Bailey had acted fast and fired Link from the hospital. She was glad to have Kai for support and had decided to put their name on the approved list, so they could pick him up if needed be. She smiled just thinking of them, especially the way they got faint wrinkles when they smiled really widely. Amelia looked up to see Jo dropping Luna off and making her way over to her.
"Amelia! What the hell were you thinking bringing the person you're dating to the dinner party and rubbing it in his face?! And then kicking him out when he got a little bit upset and keeping his own son from him! You didn't think that was enough and got Bailey to fire him! You really are a piece of work! You won't get away with this, Link will get Scout back!" Jo screamed at Amelia.
"I see he didn't tell you what actually happened. He got drunk and then proceeded to call me and Kai the f words and I kept Scout from him because my son is not being brought up in that type of household. If you think I'm wrong for that, then there is something seriously wrong with you!" Amelia snapped back. Jo's face immediately goes white and she stutters "Oh my god, he's at the loft! That homophobic prick is at my loft! I'm so sorry Amelia, I had no idea, he is getting kicked out now! If you need any help please just call me, I'd be happy to help look after Scout anytime," Jo reassuringly squeezes Amelia's hand before leaving.

Amelia was glad she had someone else in her support system. She walked down to the OR board and headed off to OR 3 for a Craniotomy. After 10 hours and about 100 complications with what should've been a simple surgery, she was wiped and slumped down on couch in the Attendings lounge, lying down. Kai walked in with sandwiches and Amelia had never been so happy in her life. "Please say those are for me, or I will eat your arm"
"Why mine? I mean I get yours are tiny little stick arms but mine aren't much better,"
Amelia threw a pillow at them. They caught it and gasped, "Rude! And yes they are for you,"
Kai walked over and kisses the top of her head, while handing over the sandwiches. They lifted Amelia's feet up, and sat on the couch placing her feet down on their lap. "Have you got anymore surgeries?"
"In 5 hours." she said in between bites, groaning ever so slightly.
"You ok?" Kai had a concerned look on their face.
"Feet hurt. Shoulders hurt. Brain hurts."
At this Kai slips her shoes off and starts rubbing circles on the soles of Amelia's feet.
"Oh god, that's better than sex!" Amelia groaned and moaned.
Kai stopped with the foot rub and hovered on top of Amelia "I might just have to show you how very, very wrong you are" they smirked and bit their lip.
Amelia blushed and pulled them closer with a tug of their shirt. She wraps her arms around their back stroking and feeling their muscles tensing and flexing as they lean further and further into her. She starts unbuttoning their shirt, when... "Dr Shepherd, Dr Grey asked me to get you for a consult, she needs you in the ER."

Kai sighed and jumped back into a chair as Amelia got up tidying her hair and clothes "Your sister always does find a way to interrupt us, doesn't she?"
Amelia walks over to them and lifts up their face before leaning down and whispering "I guess I'll just have to find a way to reward you for all your patience!"
"Dr Shepherd, this a work environment, you really should not be turning me on,"
"What can I say, it's a special skill. And later I can show you some of my other special skills," Amelia winks and then leaves maintaining the famous Kaimelia eye contact.

"Meredith, Schmidt said you needed me, what's the problem,"
"You and Kai, well your relationship." Maggie chimed in from behind a counter.
"Jesus Chri-! Wait, why are we a problem?" Amelia questioned.
"No! No! Not a problem but me and Meredith have some questions we didn't exactly get to ask at the dinner party. Except for the fact they make you happy so that's a very good start."
Maggie rushes to say.
"Oh and that you love them!" Meredith laughs.
