"Pierce, Grey, Car accident, one vic, stomach lac and muffled heart sounds, left side injuries" Hunt's voice echoed around the ER. They all quickly walked into the ambulance bay as sirens yelped closer and closer. Doors flung open and a paramedic rolled a stretcher out and onto the ground. The three grouped around the head of the stretcher,  taking in stats. A glance into the patient's face and something in Maggie clicked, she studied their face carefully and then their left palm, a pre-existing scar reached from their ring finger to thumb. They quickly moved forwards into the actual ER and rolled into Bed 2."It's Kai." she said confidently.
"What?" Meredith questioned examining their stomach.
"This," pointing at the patient laid in front of them "Is Kai, as in Kai Bartley, they have that scar Kai told us about, you know the one they got when they were a kid skateboarding. Check their pockets for ID"
Owen searched in their pockets revealing only a small drawing spattered with blood with 'Kai Kai and Mummy and Me' drawn on it by 'Scout' scrawled on it.

"Shit, it is them" Owen exasperated. "Right we get them stable and assess their injuries, then we figure out what we do next,"
The three worked through the steps, Meredith did an ultrasound on their abdomen, ruling their was no need for immediate intervention. Maggie performed an Echo and saw signs of an Cardic Tamponade, she followed up with an EKG which showed signs backing up her theory she ordered for Pericardiocentesis equipment to drain the fluid in the pericardium. She started to drain the fluid. and kept on eye on their stats. Owen checked their body for signs of trauma and was drawn to their left hip and upper leg, seemingly their car door smashed into them and caused serious damage. He called in Nico and he put a temporary support on to stop it from breaking. Koracick was paged in to do a Neuro exam while he was finishing up some surgeries. He noticed warning signs for a Subdural haematoma, a CT scan proved this and a Craniotomy was scheduled.

Kai was busy being prepped for surgery. "Ok, so Amelia's still in that surgery but she should get out in about 10-15 minutes, Helm is going to bring her down here and we'll tell her," Maggie explained carefully.
"Got it, Tom should be here in a sec to go over pre-surgery checks, and then they'll go for their Craniotomy, how's their drain going, heart isn't under any pressure is it?" Meredith asked
Maggie shook her head, she was happy with the way their heart looked. Tom finally turned up already mostly scrubbed in, "I've been called in, Emergency, ranks higher than a Craniotomy, sorry call Shepherd or the other Neurosurgeon" he quickly sped off into an elevator, leaving the two sisters struggling for a solution.
"The only other free Neurosurgeon is Dr Nelson, but he wouldn't be in my top three picks, his works a bit sloppy. Theres Jake, but he's stuck in a surgery, too." Meredith worked out staring at the OR board.
Maggie stood, hands on hips thinking quietly "Amelia"
"Huh? She's still in surgery, no point worrying her,"
"No, I mean Amelia's free, well she will be in a couple minutes. I know that morally it's a bit grey but I think Amelia would rather do surgery on Kai instead of letting their haematoma get worse, maybe worse to the point where they can't be helped,"
"Maggie are you seriously suggesting we let Amelia perform on the person they are dating, what if something goes wrong, we both know that Amelia wouldn't be able handle that!"
"She also wouldn't be able to handle the fact she could have done something to help them and she couldn't because we decided it was a bad idea."
Meredith sat down against the nearest wall,
weighing up all the options trying to figure out the best option for both Kai and Amelia "Page Helm tell her to prep OR 2, with Amelia as lead Neurosurgeon for a Craniotomy,"
Maggie only shook her head and quickly got on with it.

Maggie and Meredith sat up in the OR's gallery, scared for what would happen next. Amelia started the surgery after being told the basic facts with no name. She started with Classical Music and almost moved along with the music like poetry in motion, that was something Kai had often said about her. She slowly made her way through the steps with no problems or complications whatsoever. The only thing was she was still so confused as to why her sisters were both in the gallery. It all went smoothly until a heavy bleed started. The sisters crossed their fingers and toes praying that everything would be okay. Amelia was able skilfully work against the bleed and continue on with the surgery, eventually finishing and stitching up. She sent the patient into recovery, and starts to clean up.
