Wirt sat on his bed. Brows furrowed. Halloween was upon him and it came faster than he could blink.
He rubbed a hand over his neck contemplating his decisions and choices. A distant yet disappointed look plastered on to his face as he ran a hand through his hair.
Pacing, hands now behind his back. he started at his cluttered desk, a cassette resided inside his tape player.
He pulled out the tape and held it in his hand. Feelings of infatuation and regret swirling in his head, and a pit of anxiety growing in his stomach, as he stares down at the cassette tape.
Frustrated and embarrassed, with one swift movement he throws the cassette at the wall, unwinding the tape inside it.
Staring down at the tape. There's a name engraved in marker on it.

Wirt sighed, and thought to himself a moment or two. No more waiting. never again will he waste another month heck! a year waiting for the perfect moment to confess. Never again will he make the same mistake he made with Sara.
It was now or never.
With newfound determination, he picks the cassette back up and winds it up again with a pencil..
Cutting the brim of a Santa clause hat, he placed it atop of his head, staring at his reflection in the mirror he hums to himself in contempt, nodding."mh hmm "
Up in his house's attic "hmm yes " exclaims out holding what seems to be a cape and hat.
Now in front of the mirror with his fan on. Staring at his reflection with both the cape and hat on "yes!" He exclaimed, a feeling of empowerment filling his heart.
Out his front door, he utters the phrase with passion and determination "into the unknown".

Down the block to the school's football field. Wirt was standing near the entrance, holding his hands up to the barbed wire. There she was. Sitting down in the front row next to the mascot among the sea of dressed up teenagers Cheering with a happy smile on her face. (Y/n).
Wirt stared at her with a small smile."goodbye!" Glancing behind him. Gregory could be seen waving at a woman over her front fence. "Thank you old lady Daniels !" Greg chirped gleefully as he walked backwards.
The woman with pinkish white hair smiled warmly "goodbye Gregory, and please don't call me old lady"she playfully (yet quite seriously) scolded the boy in her gravelly voice
"Yes sir, young man! " Greg exclaimed to her with a firm salute, now next to his older brother. "Hey, wirt ! Watcha doing?" Greg asked, the young boy practically radiating so much positive energy it was almost nauseating "nothing" his older replied plainly.
"I was helping old lady Daniels rake some leaves in exchange for candy!" the young boy explained in a bragging tone pulling out some colorful candy from his pants "Greg, it's Halloween. Candy is free" Wirt deadpanned at his brother his tone file trying to inform his brother of his foolishness.
Putting his small hands to his waist, Greg replied with almost stern expression"old lady daniels says nothing in this world is free" he said solemnly
Not really interested anymore Wirt turned back to staring over the wire fence. Hands fiddling with the cold metal as he contemplated what to do.
