Jungkook finally got his pay check which meant he was finally able to go food shopping. He wore a navy blue hoodie and a pair of black joggers, paired with a pair of old black converse which he bought second hand. He made sure his hood was up over his head while plugging in his earplugs to listen to music. After finding his wallet, he left his apartment and went to the grocery shop near to wear he worked, because that was the closest one for him.Today was Monday the one day he gets off a week. He didn't mind it too much, of course he would prefer having more days off but one is enough and he can't complain. It's just quite exhausting but he feels like he's somewhat used to it now. He goes to bed late and then gets up late, it's just how it works for him now and he doesn't mind it.
He let his music play into his ears. Annoyingly the earplugs were so old that he would have to twist the wire before plugging them in, and if he moved a great deal so much that the wire would untwist and it would stop playing the music. He wouldn't have even had a phone if it wasn't for Jimin. He was selling his old phone so Jungkook bought it off him as he needed a phone to contact places for jobs when he was looking for one at the time.
He walked into the shop and began scanning the shelves. He couldn't go overboard, yes his paycheck was quite large but he couldn't spend it, he had to save it. So he was cautious very cautious. He picked up the cheapest salad bits he could find along with fruit. He picked up pasta and rice, and a few other bits.
When he went to checkout, he queued behind someone who also wore a hoodie with their hood up. Jungkook placed his stuff on the conveyor belt, but when he looked further on he noticed what the person was buying. A lot of alcohol, a lot of beer, and whiskey and dark rum. Jungkook assumed they might be having a party so he didn't think anything of it.
Until he saw the face. The check out worker asked for the person to take off his hood so he could check their ID. Jungkook glanced up at the person and noticed it was his boss. He tried to cover himself with his hoodie so Taehyung wouldn't notice him.
"This is a lot of alcohol sir, are you having a special event?" She asked as she handed back the ID.
"Yes" he just grunted and handed over the money.
"Okay well have a nice day" she smiled but he just walked off with the bags."Some people are so rude, anyway hi how are you" she said to Jungkook.
"Uh yeah hi" he awkwardly laughed and tapped his foot on the floor wanting to run after his boss, it wasn't his business he knows but he was going to make it his business.
She scanned the items and he gave the money quickly before thanking her and running out of the shop with one bag.He looked up the street and could see him in the distance. He took a breath before sprinting down the sidewalk trying to dodge people as he did so. He finally got to him and took hold of Tae's wrist to stop him from walking. Taehyung whipped his head around and saw Jungkook. His eyes widened and quickly hid the bags behind him.
"J-Jungkook?" Taehyung was way too shocked to push his hand off himself.
His stomach dropped, worried that Jungkook might notice, the boy had already seen too much.
"Let's talk" Jungkook suggested, he didn't really know what he was doing, but he had thought about it and he had thought about the amount of bottles which flooded his office, and being worried for his boss was an understatement.Jungkook sees the good in people when they deserve it, and he finds that Taehyung is one of these people from what he has observed. He puts his workers safety at the top and that's admirable. At first Jungkook thought he was just going to be one of those cold, heartless people, but he was more than that and Jungkook can see that.
He wants to understand Taehyung more and more recently he wants to be someone which he can depend on. He is the assistant manager, he should be able to keep his coworkers happy and comfortable and well that also in his mind includes his boss. Some people ignore their boss and just see them as mean bastards because they are selfish. But not everyone is like that, not every bossy has to hide away and show their employees that's it's strictly a work relationship.
It was silent between the two. They walked for a little while, space between them as they walked to the nearby park and sat on one of the benches away from everyone. They both kept their hoods up feeling more comfortable like that. They kept their eyes fixed ahead of them not wanting to make eye contact.
"You doing okay?" Jungkook asked as he leant back into the cold bench.
"Yeah fine"
"And now answer me honestly" Jungkook questioned.
"Are you my therapist or something?"
"No but I'm here as not only your assistant manager but also as a friend who you can rely on. I saw you in the supermarket"'Fuck'
"It's nothing" Taehyung whispered out.
"Nothing, it's not nothing. I know for a fact that what's in that bag isn't for a party"
"You don't know shit, why don't you care anyway. I'm your boss, don't you think you're overstepping the boundary"
"If you want me to step back I will, but I want you to know you're not alone, if this is an addiction or.."
"It's not an addiction for fucks sake" Taehyung huffed angrily, his legs shaking."Okay whatever it is, I'm here for you. I know we hardly know each other, and I can tell you're quite contained and independent. But even those who are isolated need someone and if you don't have anyone I want to be someone you can lean on"
"Why, why are you saying this? I'm your boss, yes we have had a few unwanted greets, but why are you doing this? I don't know you and you don't know me""Boss I'm someone who understands. No one should ever feel alone, and that includes you. I'll always be open, I'll listen, help you, whatever you want. When you're ready, when you want someone to listen, I'll be there and I want you to remember that. Life isn't easy and I know that, if you're struggling that's okay, but know that you have people around to help you through, and there's nothing to be ashamed of"
Tae was too shocked, he couldn't believe what he was hearing. it hurt a little as the feeling was so foreign. I mean it's not everyday you have someone want to talk to you and sound like they genuinely care. Everyone seems to be too bothered about their own lives to care about other peoples, but who can blame them. Once you have the mindset of 'it'll only be me myself and I at the end of the day' everyone just seems to stick to their own path and not want to cross over.
"I'll be here when you're ready, you know where to find me, but don't let yourself struggle, it'll only get harder and I don't want to see you struggle"
