(Morbius AU!)

You sighed at your desk, grabbing on tight to the sides of your head as you rubbed your temples. Your head was aching and your stomach was growling. The urge was getting worse and worse. You heard a shuffle before a man wrapped his arms around you.

"What's stressing you out?" He said roughly. You relaxed into his embrace. He can't know, you can't have him hate you. You looked up at the man with fiery red hair and flashed him a small smile.

"Guess you've noticed?, it's not anything major...just upset about my failed experiments." You lied. You struggled to walk before you figured a cure; having to act as if you're still dying from a disease was troublesome to say the least.

You wanted to tell him everything, but what you discovered was nothing of a cure but a curse. Your needless hunger for blood, it was a burden. A normal life was hard before but now with your DNA changed, it's harder.

Why did you mutate your DNA to begin with? Yes, a disease you had but there were other options, you could've made a real cure that wouldn't have cursed you to be the way you are now.

"You're my partner after all, I work with you daily. I think I would notice." He said with a chuckle.

"You act more like my boyfriend than my partner, Kid." You grinned.

"Hey, don't make this weird." He said with a small smile before he removed his arms from you and walked across the room.

He inspected the vials for a minute before he sighed.

"Maybe bats just aren't right to use." He said.

"Nonsense. These creatures are more developed than humans. Their tongues have a saliva that is meant to withstand blood. These types of bats feast on blood and despite their size, they can take down another creature ten times it's size. They have potential." You justified.

If only he knew. You knew these creatures too well, after all, bat-extract was now in your DNA.

"Well they're creepy as hell. Why need a whole tank?" He asked, looking over at a large glass tank of bats.

You didn't need them, but you kept them. They were needed for your fake experiments but also were beautiful to see flying around; you even made origami of them.

"I think they're unique creatures. We need them for the cure, Kid. They can help." You said. No they can't, they'll turn innocent people into monsters.

He just rolled his eyes. You stared at him, snarling silently as you switched between human and bat. Eventually, you found your hand turning more boney and veiny with sharp nails. Your eyes were switching between red and (e/c). The hunger was becoming unbearable.

Slowly, you got up from your seat at the table. You turned around and began to walk to the freezer. Kid turned to look at you, only seeing as you walked in.

"The hell? (Y/N), what're your going in the freezer for—" Kid approached the open door, his eyes wide as he stood in the doorway, watching as you downed a whole packet of artificial blood.

He stood there in shock as he watched you turn to a bat, letting out a yell before you turned back human. You sat on the ground, holding on tight to your stomach with furrowed brows.

You slowly lifted your head, looking up at him with an upset expression.

"I'm...sorry. I should've told you sooner." You said softly.

"What...(Y/N), what are you?" He asked, looking away from you.

"I found a cure. I thought it would be fine, but it's not. It's more of a curse than anything. I have increased strength, speed, hearing...superhuman abilities but at the cost of drinking blood." You began.

"Artifical blood lasts me six hours and it lasts shorter the more I have it. Im more concerned to know what will happen once it stops working for me. I've made an anti-body but...I'll die if I inject it into me." You said with a sigh.

Kid didn't have an answer for you, instead he walked out. You quickly got up and ran out after him, seeing him holding a vial of a yellow liquid.

"This is it right? This turned you into...a vampire?" Kid asked.

"Yes, please put it down—" You said, reaching out.

Kid opened the vial and sucked the liquid out with a syringe. You didn't have a chance to run at him before he injected himself. Kid winced at the pain before he dropped the syringe and walked over to you.

"We stick through this together. You say I act like your boyfriend, so why not be yours,, as human and bat." He said.

You teared up and hugged the man before you.

"Of course...together as human and bat."
