After the nice little dinner party, Mrs. Potts led Leta back to her room. She thought the everyone in the castle was really nice except for the prince. She felt like she knew where she was, but at the same time was lost "I don't understand why you're all being so kind to me. Surely you're as trapped here as I am" Leta told Mrs. Potts "Don't you ever want to escape?" "The master's not as terrible as he appears. Somewhere deep in his soul there's a prince, of a fellow just waiting to be set free" Mrs. Potts informed the girl, hoping she would change her mind. Leta looked up the stairs. Surely there had to be other parts of the castle in which she hadn't seen. It was a large castle when she had
stumbled upon it. She also didn't know what 'set free' meant, but there was obviously some curse. When she had arrived, she heard Lumière mention something about her breaking a curse, but she didn't know how. Frankly she didn't want to know at all how to break it, fearing that it may mean letting a horrible person be human again "Where does your master spend most of his time? This castle is quite large, he must be hiding around him somewhere" Leta asked. She was genuinely curious on where he spent most of his day, being that exploring was in her nature "Never you mind about that. Off to bed with you poppet" Mrs. Potts instructed "Goodnight" Leta told her, as she made her way up the stairs "Nighty-night"Mrs. Potts said as she rolled off. Leta watched the teapot the whole time "Straight to bed" Once Leta knew Mrs. Potts was completely out of sight, she went exploring. Instead of going in the direction in which her bedroom was,
she went the other way. She wasn't afraid of the beast and wanted to know a little bit more about the supposed monster she was living with. As she made her way through the halls, she noticed it was a lot darker and broken down than the other side of the castle. She thought that it kind of fit the destructive attitude of the prince. She continued making her way up the stairs in front of her until she reached a set of doors. 'It must be his room. she thought. Without any second thought, she pushed them open. The room was
dimly lit and it looked empty. As she was inspecting the room, she saw a
painting on the wall. It was of a woman, a child, and a man. Seeing this, Leta stepped closer to it, noticing the claw marks on the man and child's face. She took it in as his family, the older man being his father and the child being him. The woman in the painting must have been his mother. Looking at the child, Leta noticed the same blue eyes and blonde hair from the man in her dreams. She couldn't imagine the man in her dreams being the beast. There was no possible way. She finally walked away from the painting and ventured further into the room. On the floor she saw a pile of what looked to be ripped apart pillows and cushions. It looked like a bed of some sorts that he slept on. Once walking past that, she noticed a rose in a case on the balcony. It sparked her interest and practically rushed towards it. Roses had always
been her favorite flower, but never found a man she thought worthy
enough to give her one. She slowly made her way towards it and placed her fingers gently on the glass that encased it. Out of nowhere, the beast landed on the balcony, causing Leta to jump back a little. Even though the prince cared for Leta, the flower held the horrid memory of when he lost her. He didn't need two of those reminders in the same room "What are you doing here?! What did you do it?!" The prince practically screamed at her "Nothing" She answered softly "Do you realize what you could have done? You could have damned us all?!" He stepped towards her. Although he didn't like scaring her, he let his anger take over "Get out of here!" Leta ran for her life, fearing that the prince would kill her. She didn't want to be stuck with the possibility of having him kill her "Go!" He screamed as she ran. The prince stared at the rose, thinking about the fear he caused her. He never meant to hurt her, but his ego and anger had always gotten the best of him. He thought that all hope was lost. Lumière and Cogsworth were out in the main hall playing chess when Leta ran by. The two were fighting on who was cheating.
Lumière cut off the argued when he called toward Leta "Mademoiselle, what are you doing?" "Getting out of here" She said as she stormed down the stairs "Stop!" Cogsworth yelled, whistling. This caused Frou Frou to chase to
run out. Though the doors locked, FrouFrou ran out the doggy door with
everyone calling behind her. This gave Leta a way out "Please don't go. It's dangerous" Lumière tried to warn, but Leta already outside "Oh my!" Mrs. Potts fretted. The poor girl didn't know what was out there. Leta grabbed Maximus by the reins and hopped on. She made him go as fast as he possibly could to get away from it all. Not even making it that far from the castle, Leta heard the howl of wolves. They started running behind her and she definitely took note. She tried to make Maximus go faster, but there was no use. The wolves had surrounded them and there was no place to go. She tried to make Maximus go a different way, but they were met by a patch of ice that seemed to be a frozen pond. Maximus was slipping and the wolves started bitting at his legs. One wolf grabbed Leta from behind, causing her to come off her horse. Now on the ground, Leta went to grab a large stick to try and defend
herself. She swung at the wolves, but had little success in fending them
off. That was until there was a loud roar that caused Leta, Maximus, and all the wolves to stop. Out of nowhere, the beast throws a wolf that was standing, waiting to attack Leta into a bush. Leta made her way over to Maximus, pulling him away from the fight. The beast was being attacked by the wolves, but got them off of him. With one last roar, he scared them off. The beast turned around to look at Leta, who was in shock. She noticed that he started to loose balance and then he fell to the ground. Leta knew she couldn't leave him there, considering he had just
saved her life. She slowly made her way over to him and took her cloak off, which she placed around him. She then knelt down in front of him and whispered "You have to help me, you have to stand" With that, he stood up and she helped him climb into Maximus. Together the two silently made there way back to the castle.
On the other side of the woods was Phillip with Belle, Gaston, and LeFou. Maurice stayed home, knowing that his daughter would be safe in the hands of his most trusted friend "No, I'm sure this is the way. Do you hear those wolves? That means we're getting very close to the castle" Phillip told them "Look, enough is enough. We have to turn back" Gaston told Phillip "So you're so suggesting we leave my best friend out there to die?" Belle questioned, but was ignored. Gaston really was full of himself "Stop!" Phillip shouted abruptly "That's it. There it is. That's the tree, I'm sure of it" Phillip hopped off the carriage, as did Belle. She wanted her friend back more than anything "It was downed by lightning at the time, but now it's resumed an
upright position. Through some sort of magic or other" Phillip said "You could always go around" Belle suggested, receiving a nod from Phillip "You really want to marry into this family?" LeFou asked Gaston quietly. Phillip was trying to figure out which way the castle was while Belle investigated the scene. Gaston sat in the carriage, angry that this was happening. He hopped off and make his way towards Phillip and Belle "I am done playing this game of yours. Where is Leta?" Gaston had anger laced in his voice "The beast took her and she-" Phillip was cut off "There are no such things as beasts. Or taking tea cups, or magic. But there are wolves, frostbite, and starvation" Gaston's anger was growing by the second. LeFou stood up abruptly "Deep breaths Gaston. Deep breaths" Belle rolled her eyes. This was the soothing measure he was going with. She was surprised he wasn't the one was going to be eaten first "So why don't we just turn around and go back to Villenueve. I'm sure Leta is at home cooking up a lovely dinner"Gaston said with face calmness "You don't know anything do you?" Belle asked "Leta hates cooking, And even I know she's not home or else I wouldn't be helping with this" "If you think I've made all this up then why did you offer to help?" Phillip questioned the man in front of him "Because he wants to marry Leta" Belle informed her father's
friend "She is not at home because a-" Phillip was rudely interrupted again "If you say beast one more time, I will feed you to the wolves!" Gaston screamed at Phillip, shaking his shoulders violently.
LeFou came up behind Gaston and grabbed him "Gaston, stop. Breathe, happy thoughts. Happy thoughts. Go back to the war. Blood, explosions,
countless widows" "Widows" Gaston sighed "Yes, yes. That's it" LeFou whispered, having Gaston turn back to
Phillip. Phillip and Belle were both alarmed by the scary smile on his face. It was as if he was a psycho killer "Phillip, please forgive me old bean. That's no way to talk to my future
father-in-law now is it?" Gaston said to him "Future father-in-law?" Phillip asked and Gaston nodded with a light
yes "You will never marry my daughter"Belle laughed and thought why Gaston didn't see this coming. She also saw Gaston tense up and swing at Phillip. Seeing this, she jumped in from of Phillip and took the punch. Since that didn't satisfy Gaston, he swung at Phillip and made sure he hit him. Both of them were on the ground unconscious "I saw that coming" LeFou commented "If Phillip won't give me his blessing, then he is in my way. So is Belle. Shame really, she would have made a good wife as well" Gaston told
LeFou, tying them both to a tree "Once the wolves are finished with them, Leta will have no one to take care of her but me" "With the sake of exhausting all of our options, do we maybe want to
consider a slightly less gruesome alternative?" LeFou suggested "Are you coming?" Gaston asked. LeFou quickly hopped onto the back of the carriage, not wanting to see what a monster of his friend had done.
