Leta sat beside the beast's bed, saying lines from her favorite play. She wasn't aware that he had woken up "Love can transpose to form and dignity. Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind. And therefore..." The beast finished for her "And therefore winged Cupid is painted blind" Leta looked over him and met his soft blue eyes "You know Shakespeare?" The beast sat himself up in his bed "I had an expensive education" "Actually, Romeo and Juliet's my favorite play" She told him and he made his head fall back onto his pillow "Uhh, why is that not a surprise?" Leta looked at him, wanting to laugh and yet be a little upset "I'm
sorry?" "Well, all the heartache and pining and..." He made an expression that Leta just wanted to laugh at "Some many better things to read" "Like what?" Leta challenged and the beast got up from his bed. He moved past Leta to grab one of his coats. He then made her follow him out of his bedroom and led her to somewhere she had never seen before. The beast opened the door and Leta followed in suit "Well, there are a couple of things in here you could start with" Leta looked at the place in awe. It was a library full of books. Possibly ones she hadn't even read before. There were a lot more options here than there were back in Père Robert's place "Are you alright?" Leta looked around the room and back at the beast "It's wonderful" "Mmm, yes. I suppose it is" The beast slightly smiled at her "Well, if you
like it so much then it's yours" Leta couldn't believe what he had just said to her. The whole room was hers. She felt bad for all the things she had said to him. He was being so kind to her. The prince when just by looking at her that she was a bookworm. He made it in his effort to just watch her. She was in love with the library and he wanted to make her happy. The prince started to walk off "Thank you..." He got a little exited, she wanted to know his name "Theseus. You may call me Theseus, Leta" The name sounded familiar in her head, and it sort of matched with the blue eyed man in her dreams. Though the puzzle pieces seemed to fit, she knew that in her mind it was only a dream. It just turned out to be that dreams mimicked life. Leta smiled "Very well then Theseus, have you really read every one
of these books?" He was already stunned that she wanted to know his name, but now she wanted to make conversation "What?" He blew air out of his lip "Well, not all of them. Some of them are in Greek" Leta chuckled slightly "Was that a joke? Are you making jokes now?" He nodded his head slightly and responded back to her, kind of sassy "Maybe" Leta laughed as he exited the room and Theseus couldn't help but keep a smile off his face. The two of them were starting to play friendly with each other. Leta was left in the library and didn't know how to take everything that just happened in. She squealed and laughed, exploring the room. Now that Leta and Theseus were becoming friendly with each other,
she had accepted his offer to join him for dinner. The two sat at opposite
ends of the table. Theseus was just happy that she was there with him. He
was making his shot on how to get the girl he cared about to stay with him. Theseus looked at Leta, who felt his eyes on her. She smiled at him and he looked down at the soup in front of him. Leta went back to reading her book until she heard a splashing noise. She saw Theseus, slurping in the soup like a dog drinks water. He lifted his head up and the fur below his chin was red. He licked his lips and looked at her. She merely laughed a little, though he didn't mind. The next day they were walking outside and Leta was reading to
him some William Sharpe poems "The air is blue and keen and cold. And in a frozen sheath, enrolled, Each branch, each twig, each blade of grass seems clad miraculously with..." She read, but noticed Theseus stop on the bridge "Glass" Theseus looked at the frozen pond, enjoying the beauty of the area
covered in snow. Leta walked beside him, both of them taking in the sight together "I feel as if I'm seeing it for the first time" Theseus tried to say something else, but the words he wanted didn't come out "Is there anymore?" Leta smiled, laughing that he wanted her to continue reading "Umm. But in that solemn silence is heard the whisper of every sleeping thing. Look, look at me. Come wake me up" Theseus seemed to take the last two lines by heart, glancing down at the beautiful girl beside him "For still here I be" Leta looked up at him. They gazed into each other's eyes. Theseus so badly wanted to pull her into his chest and express his feelings for her. Leta stared into those
blue eyes that just captured her imagination. She only hoped that the
prince she saw in her dreams was hiding behind all the fur of the man in front of her. The two looked away from each other and continued walking around to
the front of the castle. There they found Leta's horse Maximus by the stables. Theseus went to go reach for Maximus, but scared the horse. Leta went over to her horse and calmed him down. Theseus watched the care
that Leta put forth. It was the care she had given since she had arrived at the castle. Once Maximus was calmed down, Leta grabbed for Theseus' hand
and placed it on Maximus. Theseus felt the spark of their hands touching and looked at her. This was the connection he longed for with Leta. She nodded at him and he smiled at her. She walked off and began singing.
"There's something sweet and almost kind. But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined. And now he's dear and so unsure. I wonder why I didn't see it there before"
Leta laughed when Theseus kicked Maximus. She took the snow from
the railing in front of her and threw a snowball at him. It hit him and he
seemed to get annoyed. He made a larger snowball from the ground and threw it at her, knocking her on the ground. He laughed. They were at the dining hall and Adam sang.
"She glanced this way, I thought I saw. And when we touched, she didn't shutter at my paw. No it can't be, I'll just ignore. But then she's never looked at me that way before"
Theseus picked up his plate and sat down next to Leta at the other end
of the table. Leta looked confused and saw him try to do what he'd done earlier with the soup. He decided against it and Leta took note. She placed her spoon down, picking up her bowl and holding it up to her lips. She tipped it and drank it. Theseus followed what she was doing and she laughed at the end.
Leta stood on the balcony of one of the windows. Plumette and other maids were getting the dust off of everything. Leta cleaned the windows, watching Theseus interact with Maximus. They seemed to have become best friends.
"New and a bit, alarming. Who'd of ever thought that this could be?"
Theseus and Leta were then in the library with the other staff. Leta
climbed up a ladder, picking out books and Theseus had them all in a stack in his arms.
"True that he's no Prince Charming. But there's something in him that simply didn't see"
"Well, who'd have thought?"
Plumette sang.
"Well, bless my soul!"
Mrs. Potts sang.
"Well, who'd have known"
Cogsworth sang.
"Well, who indeed? And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?"
Lumière sang.
"It's so peculiar"
Mrs. Potts commented.
"Wait and see"
"We'll wait and see. A few days more. There may be something there that wasn't there before"
They all sang. They all began exiting the room, leaving Adam and Angelica to look through books "And here's a thought" Cogsworth put in
"Perhaps there's something there that wasn't there before"
Plumette laughed. Chip asked his mother "What mama?"
"There may be something there that wasn't there before"
"What is it? What's there?" "I'll tell you when you're older" Mrs. Potts told her son. Chip turned around for a few seconds before turning back around
"Okay, I'm older" "Oh, Chip!" Mrs. Potts cooed "You are a one" She laughed and they were the last ones to wheel out of the room.
