Back at the castle, the beast roared in pain as Leta tended to his wounds "Ow! That hurts!" The beast nagged even though Leta was only trying to help "If you held still it wouldn't hurt as much" Leta argued. He turned to look at her "If you hadn't run away, none of this would have happened" "Well if you hadn't frightened me, I wouldn't have run away!" Now the two were playing the blame game "Well you shouldn't have been in the West Wing" "Well you should learn to control your temper"The beast huffed and turned to face away from her. He heard the hurt in
her voice and hated it. She was right about his temper, he did need to learn to control it so he would stop hurting her. While he was faced away from her, she thought about addressing a wound on his back. She decided against it, trying to prevent any lashing out he would do. He then fell asleep "Try to get some rest" Leta told him, making her way away from the bed "Thank you Ms" Mrs. Potts said "We are eternally grateful" Lumière told her "Why do you care about him so much?" Leta asked. Sure he had saved her, but it was the only caring thing he had done for her "We've looked after him all his life" Mrs. Potts told the girl "But he's cursed you somehow. Why? You did nothing" Leta questioned. Plumette was wanting to shout out her answer so badly. If Leta could remember anything, she would know what happened and how it
happened. But she didn't. Leta's memory was fuzzy as it was and being in the castle brought to mind some things for her "Ah, you're quite right there dear" Mrs. Potts started to get upset "You see when the master lost his mother, and his cruel father took that
sweet innocent lad and twisted him out to be just like him. We did nothing"Plumette flew out of the room and Lumière spoke "Let him sleep" Everyone exited and Leta glanced at the beast before exiting and making her way back to her room.
"Days in the sun
Where my life has barely begun
Not until my whole life is done
Will I ever leave you"
The beast was hardly asleep, but woke up when everyone was gone. Leta now knew the story of how he turned out to be so cruel. Or at least she knew. From the ballroom, Chapeau played the violin and Maestro Cadenza played and sang
"Will I tremble again, to my dear one's gorgeous refrain?"
Plumette and Lumière danced and sang in harmony.
"Will you now forever remain out of reach of my arms?"
Mrs. Potts was wheeling into the kitchen to put Chip to bed.
"All those days in the sun. What I'd give to relive just one"
"Goodnight mama" Chip said, his mother following him.
"Undo what's done and bring back the light"She covered him up and put out the candle. Madame de Garderobe sang with Leta in the middle of the room."Oh, I could sing of the pain these dark days bring. The spell we're under still, it's the wonders of us I sing of tonight"
Hearing all of this almost made Leta cry. Not only did she see herself as a prisoner, but everyone else saw themselves as one as well
"How in the midst of all this sorrow
Can so much hope and love endure?
I was innocent and certain
Now I'm wiser but unsure"
"(Days in the past)
I can't go back into my childhood
(All those precious days)
One that my father made secure
(Couldn't last)
You can feel a change in me
(Oh, old me closer)
I'm stronger, but still not free"
Night changed into morning and Leta made it back to the beast's room in the West Wing. She wanted to check on him, now knowing what the real reason behind his anger being. She sat on his bed and felt his head. Everyone was in the room and watched Leta care for their master.
"Days in the sun will return
We must believe as lovers do
That days in the sun
Will come shining through"
Leta looked at the rose "What happens when the last petal falls?" "The master remains a beast forever. And we become..." Lumière began "Antiques"Mrs. Potts said'"Nick-nacks" Lumière stated "Lightly used houseware"Plumette told her "Rubbish" Cogsworth finished "We become rubbish" Leta went to sit on the chest at the foot of the beast's bed "I want to help you. There must be some way to break the cure. I'm mean I've heard you say it over and over again" Cogsworth stepped forward "Well there is one..." Lumière hit him "It's not for you to worry about lamb. We've made our bed and we must
lay in it" Leta glanced between all of them. Such a sad fate that they were all
waiting for. She wanted to fix it, but no one was giving her an answer. She looked at the rose and watched as a petal fell. Behind her, the prince woke up to the crumbling noise of the castle.
In the woods, Agathe found Belle and Phillip tired to a tree. Phillip woke
up and saw the woman, asking for help. She untied them and led them to where she loved. She made them tea. Belle was a little more out together than Phillip
was "Drink" Agathe stated, bringing the cup to Phillip's mouth "Thank you Agathe" Phillip breathed.
