Author's Note:

Hello! Before you proceed, I would like to thank you for all the love and support for this book. A few days ago, the book has surpassed 2,000 reads. Honestly, I am getting speechless.

If you happen to be a MIDZY, I would also like to let you know that I have recently published a fan fiction for Yuna and Chaeryeong (YuChae) from ITZY. It is entitled: 'Colors in You' - you might be interested in reading it as well.

That's all that I had to say. Happy reading!

_____

You walked across the hallway, desperately heading for the elevator with all the tears that have been blurring your vision. The moment that the elevators slid close, that is when you broke down and sobbed. The pain that you felt from Sullyoon's infidelity was overwhelming. It was even worsened by Jinni's betrayal.

Your girlfriend just cheated on you with someone you have known. Worse, that someone happened to be a friend of yours. It is someone whom you trusted.

You were interrupted as you saw that the elevator was approaching the ground floor. You huffed and puffed, trying to catch your breath after all that crying. Thankfully, you were able to normalize your breathing by the time that its doors opened. You lowered your cap in an attempt to hide your weary eyes along with your identity before you walked off of the elevator.

To be honest, you had no idea where you were heading. One thing is for sure, and that is you wanted to get out of that place. So, you wandered aimlessly through the streets until you found an ice cream parlor.

Ice cream has always been your comfort food, so you decided to go inside of the said establishment. You skimmed through the menu board and found your favorite flavor. You searched for your wallet in your pockets. Thankfully, you brought it with you.

You let out a sigh in relief before you approached the counter. The cashier gave you a warm smile as soon as you stood before her. You gave her a smile as well before you proceeded to utter your order.

After handing you your change and receipt, she proceeded to prepare your order. You watched her do so. Once she was done, you bowed slightly as you thanked her before occupying a seat near the window.

As you settled down and started to consume your ice cream in a cup, you slid your phone out of your pocket. You have considered booking a flight back to South Korea, since you no longer see the reason for staying longer here. You would just pass by the hotel to grab your things from Haewon. But then, as soon as you unlocked your phone, you saw that you missed a lot of calls from her.

You decided to call her back but were unable to do so as someone rushed to you and quickly pulled you into a hug. You knew that tears were streaming down her face as you can feel your shirt being damped with them.

"I was so worried for you..." The person whispered between her sobs. You can clearly identify the owner of this voice.

The person slightly moved away to look at you, pouting.

"Don't wander by yourself again. You scared me."

You faintly smiled at her.

"I appreciate your concern, Haewon, but you have nothing to worry about."

"You weren't picking my calls up. How do I have nothing to worry about? You aren't in a good shape, and you aren't that familiar in this place." She spoke out.

"Alright, I apologize for not picking up. But, you have found me already, haven't you?"

She nodded.

"Then, you should calm down now."

"I doubt that I can." She blurted out which made you furrow your eyebrows.

"You wouldn't have to go through all this pain... if only I didn't give her the free pass to do so. I trusted her a little too much."

"What do you mean by that, Haewon?"

Haewon locked eyes with you, gazing at you endearingly.

"I love you, Y/N. Although I've always loved you as a best friend, I began to love you more than that. A little over a year ago, I considered telling you about how I truly feel for you. However, I didn't push through with it, because I found out that Sullyoon also had feelings for you. I gave way for her..." She confessed. You gasped, feeling your heart racing. While, she paused, pressing her lips and clenching her fist.

"Maybe if I chose to go with my initial plan, things could've been different. That would completely depend on what you think of me though. I don't want to sound like I'm assuming, but you know... there is still the possibility that none of these happened."

"It breaks my heart seeing you like this, Y/N. In one way or another, I... I paved the way for this mess." She mumbled, cupping your cheeks and brushing her thumb against them.

"Allow me to make it up with you and help you get over her. You can use me."

Before you even had the chance to speak for yourself, she leaned in and smashed her lips against yours. Your eyes widened, gripping onto her arms and lightly pushing her. You succeeded at it.

"No, I can't do this, Haewon." You breathily said.

Haewon considered that to be a rejection. She can feel her heart shattering at this but she just nodded tensely in understanding, looking down as tears began to build up in her eyes once again.

"I'm sorry."

"I am not completely closing the door for you, Haewon. The reason why I said that I can't do this is that I don't want to be unfair to you." You mumbled, cupping her chin to make her look at you. "Being cheated on does not give me the free pass to take advantage of someone else's feelings for me nor use someone for my own gratification... I believe that you would be a good partner as well. I saw that in you back on our Jeju Island trip when we were trainees and when I got injured. To be honest, I had a crush on you before. I couldn't help it. The way you care for me is just something else. But, I would need you to give me some time to heal."

Haewon's eyes sparkled upon hearing all these from you.

"Can you wait for me until then?"

"Take all the time that you need. No matter how long it takes, I will be waiting for you, Y/N."
