You felt fingers running through your hair and eventually, a few gentle taps on your head.

"Miss Y/L/N." A familiar cold voice registered to your system. You just let out a groan.

"I told you to call me by my name."

With your eyes still closed, you whined those words and absentmindedly pouted. You heard Haewon's breath hitched.

So, you decided to open your eyes slightly. There, you caught Haewon looking away. You were unsure if you were just seeing things, but her ears somewhat turned red.

"Don't do that." Haewon said sternly when she returned her gaze to you. You were able to clarify the fact that you weren't seeing things because her entire face was in a similar shade of red as her ears were.

You open your eyes fully, looking at her confusingly.

"Don't do what?"

"Argh, don't be annoyingly stubborn. That is what I meant. Get your butt off the seat already. We're the only people left in here, and I'm pretty sure that you are aware of my dislike of being left behind in the class." She uttered.

Perhaps, she turned red because of her annoyance.

"Sorry."

As you whispered that word, you quickly got up from your seat and took your belongings with you before you headed inside of the retreat house. You just stood near its entrance and waited for Haewon.

As you were waiting, you took in your surroundings. The floor was made of oak, and the wall was generally white with some specific areas which were stonewalled for aesthetic purposes. There was a desk near the entrance, close to it was a L-shaped sectional sofa. Its color and design fit the ambience of the retreat house.

When she finally entered, the two of you made your way together to the desk. The staff asked the two of you to surrender your phones and watches before she told you where the activity hall where your classmates were most likely to be in.

The two of you arrived in the activity hall without speaking a word to each other. As the two of you were heading to the activity hall, you would catch Haewon stealing glances from you though. Uneasiness was evident in her eyes.

There was a person speaking in front. He must be the facilitator for this event as he was relaying the activities that were meant for today. Afterwards, he guided the students to their designated rooms which were located on the second and third floors of the retreat house.

Since you came in late, you feared that you'd missed something he said. You sought for Seeun, and you instantly found her. You snuck your way to her side.

"Hey, Yoon, we came in late. Did the facilitator mention anything that must be remembered before he started to relay the activities?" You suddenly asked that startled Seeun and nearly got her jumping out of shock.

Upon processing what you've said, she teasingly smirked and raised a brow at you.

"Oh, why did the two of you come in lat— ouch!"

She did not get to finish her sentence as she groaned when you pinched her side, glaring at her afterwards.

"Gosh, your mind needs a lot of cleansing, Yoon. I have no place for your jokes right now."

"That was painful, Y/N. I'm being real." Seeun frowned before she finally gave you the information that you needed. "The facilitator basically mentioned about the essence and objectives of this retreat and the reason behind our phones and watches being confiscated. I believe that the most important thing that you must bear in mind is the wake-up call that would be made by the ringing of the electronic bell. Then, a hand bell would be used to indicate the full consumption of the time allotted for the students to perform a specific step or the complete activity."

As she finished speaking, she was still grimacing a bit while she was rubbing the area that you pinched. You felt bad for it.

"Was it really that painful?" You asked her worriedly and carefully pushed her away from the hallway to check on that area. You took a quick look around, checking if the coast is clear before you lifted her shirt very slightly. It was visible that it was reddish.

Upon seeing that, you fixed her shirt and gave her an apologetic look.

"I'm really sorry." You looked down and heaved a sigh.

"This is nothing. I am more worried about you. You seemed to be bothered. That's why I tried to throw a joke earlier to lighten things up. So now, tell me what happened." Seeun coaxed you to open up. She was about to hold your hand. But then, there was someone else who did so. You looked up to see who it was.

"Oh, you're here, Y/N. I've been looking for you everywhere."

That was Haewon.

"As for your concern, miss Yoon — I believe that I'm at fault for it. So, let me handle this."

Upon hearing this, you witnessed how Seeun's expression changed. For once, you got intimidated by your best friend.

Seeun took a step closer to Haewon. Tension was building up between the two of them.

"You better do so and make it up with her, Oh."

Seeun muttered vehemently.

You were starting to feel uneasy about how their conversation had been going. So, you were thankful when you heard the electronic bell ring.

This indicates the need for the students to gather in the activity hall.

"Let me do this." Haewon insisted, tightening her grip on the strap of your backpack and duffel bag. It is currently nighttime. You got through the activities for today, and you were pretty much given the rest of the remaining time before bedtime to do anything you wanted to do.

Right now, you and Haewon are in your shared room. She is currently insisting to fix your things into your dresser.

You felt so drained because of the activities that you've done today, so you did not have the energy to argue with her anymore. You just sighed in defeat and nodded at her, letting her do what she wanted.

You lazily laid down on your bed and covered your eyes with your arm.

"I'm sorry."

It was Haewon who spoke, breaking the silence that had been taking over the room for quite some time. You moved away the arm that was covering your eyes and sat up to look at her.

She was already done with fixing your stuff into your dresser. She was setting the emptied bags aside.

"Tell me honestly, Haewon, did... or do you find me annoying?"

"Not at all."

Haewon quickly responded. Then, she sat next to you and held your hand, gazing at you apologetically.

"My behavior earlier today was completely uncalled for. Let me make it up to you and redeem myself."
