The Dance

****Sonny's POV****

We arrived at the beach It was so beautiful and lights was everywhere, and I couldn't get over how beautiful Nina looked

Nick and I helped Nina out of the car and Nick got her in her wheelchair
I pushed Nina on the sidewalk and we got onto the sand

"Dad it's beautiful."
Nina said

It meant so much to me to hear that

We got to where everyone was at and the music was playing.

"Dad I want to dance but how do I dance?"
Nina asked

"Well that's why Meredith put your oxygen tank in a backpack, we'll have you wear it..."
Amanda said

"I'll carry you and we can dance and or you can stand on my feet and we'll dance like before."
I said

"Cool."
Nina smiled so big

"Thank you everyone for being here."
Nina added with a big smile

Nina stood up from her wheelchair with the help of Nick and Amanda

I picked her up and held her in my arms and we began to dance.

"Let's get a good picture."
Nick came up beside us

Nina laid her head on my shoulders and hugged me tight

I smiled

Nick took the picture and showed us on his camera

Nina and I both had the biggest smiles and it was the most precious picture

Nina leaned up and we kept dancing

****Nina's POV****

I had the most amazing magical night at our special spot on the beach, my dad and I danced so much and it was the most rewarding thing to be able to do tonight.

My dad put me back in my wheelchair and I smiled and I felt so much peace.

I was so encouraged

We got back to the hospital and Amanda and Meredith helped me get ready to relax to rest up for surgery tomorrow

Once I got situated Sonny came back in my room

"Amanda can Nina and I have some alone time?"
Sonny asked

"Of course, I'll be back in the morning."
Amanda said

Amanda kissed Sonny on the lips and she left

Sonny climbed on the bed with me

"I had the best night I could ever have, I felt like I was getting married and going to prom all at the same time."
I said

"I'm so glad, I'm so glad."
Sonny sniffled

"Dad I'm going to be ok, I promise."
I said

"I know, it's just hard."
Sonny said

"I want you to have my journals and video diaries everything. You have my permission."
I smiled

"Nina Carisi, I'm glad you felt the need to give your dad permission to have all that.."
Sonny laughed

My dad and I talked, we just talked all night about everything and anything

It really was a special day and night I had with my dad

I'm thankful
I'm grateful
No matter what happens tomorrow, I'll remember today and tonight forever
