All Falls Down Pt. 2

"You're stuck on her, aren't you?" I said, wiping the tears from my eyes. She glared at me across the bed. "Well, I'm sorry for not telling you about the job, but most importantly I'm sorry for thinking I had your heart. You clearly have some unfinished business with Diamond." I sniffed. Her expression softened a bit as she came to sit beside me.

"There is no unfinished business, Nia. I shouldn't have been so angry, I should have waited until you were comfortable enough to tell me. I'm not knocking your hustle baby, I still want you to be mine." Were my ears deceiving me? A smile crept up on my face, and left almost instantly. "So, why does that bitch still have your number, Jo? I'm a grown ass woman and let me tell you, this is never going to work with your little ex playing private investigator." She sighed with her head in her hands. "I'll change it, I'll change my number. Anything to make you happy, baby."

I was glad everything had worked out between Josie and I, but I would catch Diamond slipping, if it was the last thing I did. I listened to her singing in the shower while I applied my cherry blossom lotion to my skin. She was spending the night with me, even though I had to work the next morning. The voice in my head kept reminding me of what went down between Chantel and I the night before. Fuck, confess one secret, bury the other.

I wrapped my silk robe around myself and answered the door to get the Chinese takeout we had ordered before our showers. I could tell by his reddened cheeks that the delivery boy was all in favor of my somewhat revealing appearance, but he was a gentleman about it, so I tipped him extra. He lingered a while longer before snapping out of his reverie and scurrying away. I laughed, closing the door behind myself. "Tell him, next time he has to pay for those peeks." Josie said from behind me, I shot her a glare before busting out in hysterics.

"Come on big head, let's eat."
