After a series of slow, sensual pecks, Caleb pulled himself away. He looked down into my eyes, regret nowhere to be found. I didn't know if it was the kiss, or the Atlanta heat but I felt as if I might go up in flames. Fanning myself, I looked away for a split second. "I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me. I'd be deserving of a slap if you decided to hand one out." Laughter rumbled out of me as I met his eyes, eliciting a nervous chuckle from him. "Do you belong to anyone?" I sobered myself to answer his question. "I'm seeing someone, yes. But.." His eyes lit. "But?" Shaking my head I glanced away again. My phone vibrated in my hand. "Mind if I take this?" Caleb nodded.
"Hi babe, how is everything, how long ago did you land?" I spoke into the receiver. His eyes seemed to be studying me. Josie was staying at her mother's house while up in Michigan. Her voice sounded strained and I knew she was tired. Everyone was taking it kind of hard, being that her grandfather was known to be such a strong man. "I just want you to rest and take it easy, Jo. You're going to get through this, I'll keep the family in my prayers. Text me later, I love you." I looked down at my heels before saying that last bit, ending the call.
"What are your plans for the night, Nia?" Caleb asked after a beat of silence. "I actually don't have any as of yet, but I'm sure I'll find something to get into. Why, what are you getting into tonight?" He leveled me with a gaze, "You." My mouth opened and closed several times without a word, hell, I couldn't form any. My head cocked to the side as if to say 'Excuse me?' "You heard me correctly, Nia, I want you. All of you."
- Arms folded across my chest, I began to worry my bottom lip with my teeth, Eyeing him up and down. "Why do I get the feeling you're saying goodbye?" He asked. I lifted myself off of my door and proceeded to unlock and open it. "Because, I'm leaving, mister Ackerman." Sliding into the drivers seat, I smirked up at him. "Goodbye, miss Williams?" I tapped my lips with my index finger, "Nahh, not goodbye, just see ya later." He nodded, closing my door for me. "I'm going to hold you to that." He said before clearing the way for me to pull out. I waved before exiting the parking lot.'Girl I'm surprised you didn't let em fuck you in the backseat!' My inner self screamed. Shaking my head I continued on my way home. I had to tell Gee about this shit. The phone rang, and rang. Come on, Gina.
Hello?
Holá mamí, como esta?
Hey girl, I'm good. What's up?
Nothin girl, melting in this damn heat. You home?
Yup, I got off a few hours ago actually.
Good, I'm on my way over.
Say no more.
"So what do you plan to do about, or shall I say with McHottie?"
"Gee, you're not even helping." I shook my head. She was supposed to be the rational thinker between the two of us.
"Look girl, I'm just saying, I see no ring on your finger. Stop wading in the shallow and dive in already." What was a girl to do? Picking up my phone I opened up my messages, my fingers dancing over the keyboard. Lord, forgive me.
Know the Buckhead area well?
Very well, yes. Why, might I ask?
I could use some company..
