song: frank ocean - nights

Weekends always seem to slip through my fingers like sand in an hourglass. This one was no exception. My mind and emotions have been a whirlwind, and to top it off, Mrs. Hart decided to drown us in work. So, instead of enjoying my break, I spent it buried in notes and textbooks. Thankfully, Kaden came through with some much-needed documents for art history, easing some of the academic burden.

As for Dylan, well, he's been pushed to the back of my mind. Sort of. Kaden and I share a mutual sentiment: screw that guy, but not in the literal sense, of course.

Now, it's Monday afternoon, and I've arranged to meet Lilly and Mason at the local library to tackle our impending finals together. I'm banking on their help to decipher these subjects, or else I'm as good as toast.

Being the punctual one, I secure a spot near the library's expansive window wall, spreading out my study materials. Before long, I hear Lilly's signature energetic chatter, followed by her practically zooming toward me, Mason trailing behind.

"You should've introduced me to him earlier!" Lilly exclaims, her excitement palpable.

"I'm telling you, she's dangerous," Mason quips, nodding in Lilly's direction before veering off to find his own study spot.

Lilly shoots Mason a death glare, her expression enough to silence him momentarily. "Watch your mouth, pretty boy," she snaps.

"Looks like you two are becoming best friends," I interject, finding amusement in their sudden banter.

Mason shakes his head, grinning, and joins us at the table. They both place their notes on the large round desk, ready to dive into the studying session.

"I can't believe we're graduating in less than a month. It feels surreal," Lilly remarks, a hint of disbelief in her voice.

"It still feels like March, but it's already May," Mason adds, his frustration evident as he lightly taps his head on the desk.

"I just want to get out of here, honestly," I chime in, feeling a mix of eagerness and apprehension about the looming transition.

But deep down, do I really want to leave university? The uncertainty of the future looms over me, and I can't shake the fear of drifting apart from my friends once we graduate.

"You better not leave me," Lilly says, her eyes wide and dramatic, as if she's sensing my inner turmoil.

"Wouldn't dream of it," I assure her with a smile, trying to push aside my worries.

As we each grab our pens and begin poring over our lecture materials, I can't help but feel the weight of boredom settling over me. This studying session might be more challenging than I anticipated.

I entertain the idea of creating a large sketch for my art class, perhaps experimenting with splashes of watercolor. It's a departure from my usual style, but I'm eager to explore new techniques. Meanwhile, digital design poses its own set of challenges - the professor always seems to expect the impossible.

The buzzing of my phone pulls me from my thoughts, and I glance down to see a message from my brother. He's telling me to come over to discuss Miami. And apparently Camila ordered I've got to bring the girls with me.

I admit, the upcoming birthday celebration in Florida had slipped my mind amidst the chaos of school and, well, men.

"Lilly, Kai's asking if we can go over to his place to talk about the vacation," I say, flashing her a smile.
