God must really hate me.

That would be the only explanation as to why I can never get a break in this life.

"Where do you think you're going?" Holden repeated, his eyes flashing angrily. He was wearing an expensive suit that was as dark as his eyes. His hair was neatly combed back, revealing his perfect hairline and strong face.

He was perfect...or at least he would be if he was a stranger to me at this moment and not my vengeful ex.

Reminding myself that this man was here to cause problems, I averted my eyes and looked at Kieran, who was too busy staring at the moving aircraft to notice the scene behind him.

I swallowed. How do I explain this?

"Are you trying to run away with my child, Katiana?" His voice slowly got louder with each word but his face was oddly calm.

I looked back at him and frowned. Wait a minute? What was Holden doing at the airport?

"Why are you following me? How did you know where I'd be?"

He grimaced. "We dated Katiana. I know how your mind works. I knew you'd try and pull a stunt like this so from the moment I left your apartment two nights ago I had someone watching your every move." He paused and moved around to stand in front of me. "You wanna know when my suspicion rose? When you went to the bank to deposit a check for five thousand dollars. Where does a woman who owes a loan shark get that type of money? I don't really care where you got the money but you know what I care about? What were you gonna do with such a large sum of cash... It was easy to find out that you used a few hundred to buy a plane ticket."

I frowned. "How?"

He shrugged, "That's the easy part. My sources were able to hack into your bank and see the transaction and from that transaction they were able to find the plane ticket you bought from Spirit Airlines. You should really change your passwords. Kieran123 is a dead giveaway."

Hating the fact that he was hovering over me, I stood. "You had no right." I whisper yelled at him. "You had no right digging into my personal life. None."

He frowned. "Your life stopped becoming personal the day you decided to take my son away from me." he responded, hatred laced in his words.

"You can't stop me from getting on that plane, Holden," I said.

He raised his eyebrows, "Oh, can't I?" He smirked. "I can easily follow you to Kansas and file for custody there. As a matter of fact. I dare you. Go on that plane. You'll be found an unfit mother the moment you step on that plane. Only an idiot would run away with a child she obviously can't provide for... not to mention the fact that you hid my child from me and want to further hide him from me. So run. You'll make my case that much easier."

"You don't know the custody laws of Kansas." Neither did I.

He smirked. "Don't I?"

I stared at Holden in horror. "You're lying. You don't know anything about the custody laws in Kansas."

"I'd never lie to you. And I never have. My PI is standing somewhere in the airport watching us right this minute. If I give him a call he can deliver the paperwork to me right now.

For a moment I couldn't breathe. Nor could I think. Everything within me froze and died a little bit. Unshed tears gathered in my eyes. "Why are you doing this to me?"

He took a step closer to me. "You're not going anywhere." he paused. "At least not with my child."

He gave me a stern look before walking over to Kieran.
