I looked up at the sky as I exited the townhouse. Damn! It was raining and I didn't have an umbrella. However, I couldn't possibly wait until the rain stopped. The sky was dark which meant the rain wasn't going to stop anytime soon. All I have to do is get to the bus stop quickly.

I ran down the steps of the townhouse and opened the gate. I exited the property then closed the gate behind me. Before I even reached the end of the street I was soaked and freezing. But I didn't care.

I rather walk in the rain than stay in his townhouse while he's there. He said he was only there to pick up some papers but apparently not, because he didn't leave afterwards. He stayed in his office the entire time. He didn't bother me while I was working except for when he used the google device to broadcast a message for me to come to pick up the tray from his office.

That's when I truly felt like a servant. Picking up after him like that.

I had to remind myself that this is just one day and it's not like he'll be working at home every day.

I hope the hell not!

In the roadway, a car turned, I realised too late, as it arced through the wash of water in the gutter, sending a plume of the cold, dirty water over my legs.

"Shit!" I shouted. I looked down at my legs and then at the silver car that was driving away without a care in the world.

I lifted my middle finger to the car and shouted. "Assshole!"

I screamed in frustration and continued walking.

"These rich bastards don't care about anyone but themselves. They think because they drive their fancy little cars they can just splash people like me with dirty water. Well, they're wrong..." I ranted to myself as I continued walking. I didn't notice the car slowing down behind me until I heard a familiar voice shout.

"Get in."

The voice was terse. It sounded angry. I looked to my right and frowned. The passenger door of the car was opened in front of me.

"I said get in!"

I froze when I recognized the voice. I bent my head to confirm and there he was.

Holden was sitting in the driver's seat with his hands on the wheel.

For an instant, I hesitated, but I realized I'd be a fool to say no to a drive especially since the rain was tearing.

I entered the car and closed the door. "Thanks," I muttered. On the seat, I felt my brain start to work again. And my muscles. I started to shiver, violently. Water was running down from the hair plastered wetly to my head.

"Are you mad?" he shouted, "Walking along looking like that? Why are you even walking in the rain?"

I stared at him through rain‐wet eyelashes.

"I didn't have an umbrella with me," I answered. My teeth were starting to chatter, and I had to clench my jaw to stop them.

"And you didn't think to take a taxi?" he retorted witheringly as he looked at me with a frown. "Look at yourself."

I frowned and looked down at my clothes. My T-Shirt was soaked and my pink bra was visible along with every contour of my upper body.

I looked half-naked.

I closed my mouth tightly in embarrassment. I was shivering and clutching my tiny bag on my lap.

"There's a subway station! Let me out!" I plead as I spot the station from a distance.

"Are you insane? You can't go on the subway like that! You're half-naked!' His eyes flashed darkly.

"Then how am I going to get home?" I asked.
