4: will always be yours

"Master, the last information we heard of Zenin Toji—"

"Not Zenin," said the young man sitting on the bed. "Simply calling him Toji would suffice."

Nao, the former leader of Hyousuke's elite unit now head butler of the mansion, blinked at Hyousuke's words before restraining the smile that threatened to appear on his lips.

However, recalling the intel he received from one of his informants, the joy in his vanished. "Sir Toji, he..." Nao paused, already having second thoughts whether or not he should tell the young man.

"... he left the Zenin Clan with a woman who he claimed to be his wife."

It was minute and if one wasn't looking closely, they would have noticed the way Hyousuke stiffened, the light in his eyes dimmed, and how tight he held the teacup in his hands.

For a moment, Nao thought that his master would crush the cup in his hand.

But that momentary slip up was fixed in an instant as Hyousuke schooled his features. "Is that so..?" The ever present smile remained on his lips, as if the news did not affect him.

"Master," anguish lingered in Nao's face. "The tribulation happened three years earlier and you managed to overcome it. Isn't it time to let Sir Toji go?"

If Hyousuke survived the tribulation, what else did Zenin Toji serve for in Hyousuke's life?

"Let him go, you say..." The warm milk in the teacup was as tranquil as ever, unlike the emotions causing havoc inside his chest. Hyousuke had woken up from several years of coma, and regained consciousness not long ago.

In that long of a period he disappeared, it was only natural for Toji to find someone else to be his partner.

But for Hyousuke to easily let him go... that wasn't possible.

"Keep gathering information about him. He and his wife's living conditions. Whether or not they're facing troubles. If they are, deal with it."

"Master—"

"Must I repeat myself, Nao?"

"... no. We will do as you wish."

Left alone in this room, Hyousuke began to recall the things Nao told him ever since he woke up.

The Jujutsu Community fell into chaos not long after. They were worried about the future; whether or not big disasters would fall to the world.

The clan of Danuja only left behind one prediction; and that was the birth of a certain child which happened while Hyousuke was in a coma.

From what he remembered, the child was Gojo Satoru of the Gojo Clan; inheritor of the Six Eyes and Limitless. His birth signified the new era which would lead to several major events in the future.

After his birth, countless strong cursed spirits emerged and most jujutsu sorcerers were now actively dealing with them.

As for the Zenin Clan, after being looked down on by Hyousuke, took their frustration out on Toji. On top of him lacking cursed energy, they released the humiliation they suffered on the person Hyousuke took a fancy of.

When Hyousuke heard this, he had instinctively left his bed. However, his body was weak after being in a coma and all he could do at that moment was to swallow his anger.

He could always find an opportune time to deal with that trash of a clan.

And the latest news he received was Toji leaving with his wife.

Wife, ah. The smile he always wore emitted a sadness he never felt before. Although I have expected this, it still... hurts. It feels like what all I have done in the past was nothing but a waste of time.

"Nevermind," he told himself. "As long as he likes it, I will like it as well."

.

.

Another handful of years passed and Fushiguro Toji sat in the bleachers, watching as he lost another handful of money to horse racing.

Che. That had been the last of his money.

What the fuck was he, Megumi, and Tsumiki supposed to eat now?

His eyes wandered around the bleachers, looking for a woman who was easy to fool. No, not that one. She looks like the type to hint me down if I leave. Not that one either; she's married. No, not her; she doesn't look experienced in bed anyway.

Toji rolled his eyes. Looking for a woman he could mooch off on seemed difficult nowadays. He hadn't reached the point he would service a married woman; that wasn't his style to begin with.

Subconsciously, Toji's gaze drifted off to the private box which several elites resided in instead of the common bleachers. Behind the ceiling to floor glass stood a young man with braided ankle length hair. It glistened under incandescent light. From afar, the young man resembled a woman.

His waist was thin, his shoulder was not too broad, and his hands appeared delicate like diamonds; one hit and he would shatter.

Good figure. But as his gaze rose, Toji felt like he was struck by lightning.

That face... Disbelief overwhelmed any other emotions Toji had at that moment. He recalled the news he received over a decade ago.

Hyousuke of Danuja Clan perished as well in the massacre.

Then, that stupid letter... it was true?

Under the pressure of the Zenin Clan, after being mistreated and enduring for many years; Fushiguro Toji succumbed to the hopelessness back then. If it weren't for his first wife, he wouldn't have known what happened to him.

But... he had chosen to forget Hyousuke because remembering him brought despair he would have gotten lost in.

He thought that the letter was just a way to console him back then.

A way to remind him that, even in the end, the only one Hyousuke held in his heart was him.

However, the truth was before him.

Hyousuke, who called himself as Toji's future husband, was alive and well.

.

.

Gray eyes and green eyes met.

Hyousuke paused from talking to the person across him when he saw a familiar face in that large crowd in the bleachers. It was a one in a million chance but he never expected to see Fushiguro Toji amongst the crowd.

The young man's eyes turned into crescents as he mouthed a question; "Are you doing well, husband?"

He hadn't wanted to see him, no matter how much he yearned to, because last he knew, Toji was married and had a son with his wife.

Hyousuke wasn't a fan of wrecking other's family.

However, the way Toji stood up and glanced at him with mixed emotions startled Hyousuke who couldn't hear the person across him calling his name.

... he's heading this way... isn't he?
