The next day Deku woke up on his bed. He didn't remember getting there but he guessed he was still in a haze from his attempt. He still felt like shit though. He hadn't forgotten what Bakugou said and he honestly wished that he could. He couldn't get his mind off it. He wanted to know what Bakugou meant.
But he couldn't.
Asking Bakugou about it without a reason wouldn't work and telling the boy that he was Deku- well the Deku he knew before was out of the question. Once again Deku's mind couldn't hold onto a single thought he tried his best to calm down and think of something else but his mind would go to the same place.
'Hurt yourself. Do it. It's the only way.'
So he did. He quickly stopped himself though. He needed the energy, he couldn't allow himself to use up his energy this early in the day. What if he needed to heal someone? What if he needed to fight? He had to be alert. He berated himself in his own head for a minute before looking at the time.
4:23. Still pretty early. He decided on going out, just to try and help some people before he had to go to UA. At least if he gets hurt while patrolling it wouldn't be energy lost because of himself.
During his patrol he had stopped a couple of crimes. A few muggings, assaults, one burglary. He had also gotten a couple of injuries one of which was a gunshot. Deku held onto the pain like a lifeline as he had to dig the bullet out of his own arm and watched as his skin stitched itself back together. He sighed and looked at the time. 7:30... He decided to go to UA. He didn't want to be caught up fighting people when he was supposed to be at UA.
Once he gets to the gates he makes his way through the corridors to Nezu's office. Once he gets there he knocks on the door and as usual Nezu responds with a chipper "Come in!"
"Ah Deku what are you here this early for?" He asks.
"Just making sure I'm not late. You know how the streets get." Deku responded.
"Surely it gets stuffy wearing that mask all the time, I already know who you are why don't you take it off." Deku shrugged and pulled the mask down exposing his freckled face.
"What's going to be happening today?" Deku asked.
"Well it's mostly like usual but today the year 1 students will be having hero battle training with All Might. Would you be okay with supervising?" Nezu asked.
"Of course." Deku responded.
"How have you been anyway? Have you been eating enough? Sleeping enough?" Nezu asked with a knowing smile. Deku thought back to the amount of meals he had skipped and the pitiful amount of sleep he had.
"Define enough." He said nervously.
Nezu sighed. "It's okay Deku but I implore you to have lunch here today, lunch rush does make wonderful meals so don't worry about that."
"I wouldn't want to take up his time..." Deku says scratching the back of his neck.
"Nonsense, he cooks for the entire school afterall. One more meal is nothing to him." Nezu waves off his reasoning. "I ask for my meal to be brought up here all the time I'll just add what you want aswell and you can eat here since you want your privacy."
"Okay. Is it okay if I go train in one of the gyms?" Deku asks.
"Of course, if you have any issues just ask, also you should probably be with 1B for the morning, they're having their hero training first." Nezu says.
"I'll keep that in mind." Deku says as he pulls his mask back up and leaves the room. He quickly makes his way to the gym. Once he gets in there he makes his way over to the storage room and grabs a punching bag. He felt like he had been lacking with a couple of the hits he threw at some of the villains that day so he wanted to check his form a bit. After around 30 minutes of punching he hears the door to the gym open and shut. He looks towards the entrance and sees Aizawa making his way over.
