TW: Mature language, mentions of blood and the existence of a mouse

"Thanks for helping me out," Wrath said, holding the door open to one of the backrooms.

You had made a simple promise to the demon, promising to help them out with their punishment after a recent fight with one of the other demons, Greed. In their defense, he was pissing them off, claiming how they would never live up to half of his fame.

Either way, the fight resulted in the two having to do cleaning duties for a couple of months, giving some of the actual cleaners a break for a change. Due to Greed being the one to start it, he was stuck cleaning the bathrooms whilst Wrath only had to clean the backrooms.

Of course, there was like 4 different ones, all ranging in size from the small ass closet to the large storage room. Once you found out about the punishment, you couldn't help but feel sorry for Wrath, resulting in you promising to help which they accepted gratefully.

So, there you were, being lead into the second largest of the backrooms which contained most of the spare chairs and tables, alongside cutlery and a couple of large boxes with whoever knows in them.

"No problem dude! I am always here to help. Now you probably ought to be getting to the storage room. I'll manage this one alone" You stated, waltzing in.

"If you are sure, then alright. See ya round!" They said

You waved them off, closing the door behind you. A small light hung from the ceiling, allowing for you to not be completely in the darkness. You instantly got started on cleaning up any cobwebs or old stains that looked suspiciously like blood or maybe wine?

The room took a lot longer for you to clean than you thought, taking around two hours to complete. Afterwards, you felt exhausted.

Giving a small sigh of relief, you slid down against one of the walls, your legs giving out on you. Running a hand across your head, you relaxed for a moment, allowing your body to recover.

That was...until you saw something move in the corner of your eyes.

Instinctively you shot up, glaring at the boxes which you saw something white dart behind. It was too fast to see what it was exactly which left you curious. You hesitantly walked over to the boxes, taking a deep breathe as you did so. You slowly moved the box, prepared for the thing to dart again. But it didn't.

Instead, a small mouse stood frozen in place, shaking, and staring directly at you. Your gaze softened at the being, relieved to know that it was just a mouse.

Looking around for a moment, you knelt down, reaching a small, cupped hand out.

"Aww you poor thing," You hushed, gently taking the mouse into your hands, with it not taking any move to fight back.

You raised it up to your face, its small beady eyes analysing your features, sniffing your nose as it did so.

You giggled slightly, nuzzling the little mouse who merely nuzzled you back, seemingly calmer than earlier. It's soft fur rubbed against your hand.

You felt conflicted. You could just leave the little guy here and hope that one of the other employees don't spot him. Or you could take him to your room. After a couple minutes of the mouse sniffing you, you made your decision.

*Time skip to a couple months later*

You were in your room, just chilling at your desk, humming to yourself. You leant your body back, resting your feet on the desk, arms behind your head. You heard the door behind you open and close, with the familiar clicking of heels following behind.

"Hello baby," You purred, knowing exactly who it was.

"Hello, my dear, how are you doing today?" Pirouletta purred softly moving behind you to give you a little peck on the forehead.

"Hmm not too bad, what about you?" You murmured, melting in her touch.

"I'm doing okay-what the fuck is that thing!?" She yelped, jumping back, catching you off guard.

"Huh what?" Your eyes shot around the desk, trying to figure out what spooked her.

"That-that thing in the cage-" She claimed, pointing directly to the cage beside you.

"Oh him? It's my little buddy, Otto!" You stated happily, opening the cage, and holding the small mouse in your hands.

"Your buddy? You have a rat as a buddy?!?!"

"For starters he isn't a rat, he is a mouse. Secondly, so? What have you got against him?"

"I-it's just, it's a rodent. You shouldn't keep them as pets!"

"And why not?"

"They are rabid beasts with all kinds of diseases,"

"Oh, don't worry, I took him to the vets once I got him. They said he was all clear, the lucky thing," You chuckled softly, stroking Otto's head.

Pirouletta went quiet, unsure how to respond.

"He isn't that bad I assure you. In fact, he is really sweet and pretty smart. He can be a little bit eccentric but overall, he isn't that bad," You assured her.

She narrowed her eyes slightly, staring at the mouse which was still in your palm.

"You should hold him!"

"What- hell no!"

"Oh, come on, he isn't going to hurt you. He can't hurt a fly anyway,"

"I am not holding that thing,"

"Please, just for me. You don't even have to hold him for too long. Just for a second or so," Puppy eyes sprung onto your face and watched her face contort to an annoyed groan.

"Fine. But only for a minute," She groaned, looking away from you as she gestured her hand to you

Carefully and slowly, you placed Otto in her hand, watching intently as the mouse sniffed her. Her eyes slowly moved over to the mouse, observing as the mouse nuzzled himself up in her hand and laid down.

Turning to face Otto, Pirouletta's face softened at the furball in her hands. Slowly, she moved her other hand to stroke his back, feeling the soft fur rest against her hand.

A soft smile rose to her face as she continued to stroke him.

"It's been over a minute-"

"Oh shut up,"
