Chapter 13: Broken Pride

The next day, OC feels uncomfortable not seeing Hayasaka in front of him as he sits in class. Although Kaguya had informed him that she would be going to the Disciplinary Committee, he was still worried about her. He sighs as he accepts it and puts his head down before the lesson starts, as per usual.

Moments go by, and moments turn into minutes. The loud chatter of students makes it impossible for him to hear his own thoughts. That's until he hears...

"Hey, you know that Hayasaka girl? Apparently there's some dirty pictures of her going around!"

OC's heart starts to pound. The desk scratches as he curls his hands into fists. He could feel his face getting hot as he hears laughing come from the group of students and all of them calling her disgusting, foul names.

He bites on his lip, using it as an outlet of his anger. All he could think about is how much he wanted to punch them in their face. He didn't care about what would happen to them or to him, the only reason he held back was for Hayasaka's sake.

"Have you seen how she dresses? Of course she's a whore!" The boy pulls out his phone before continuing. "I have the pictures right here too—"

The boy's sentence is cut short when he feels the cold handle of the phone being taken from him. Almost instantly, the boy snaps around, and is met by none other than OC staring daggers into his eyes as he stands right behind him.

It wasn't just the boy that turned around however, the whole classroom felt the atmosphere shift and focused their attention on OC.

"Oi! What the fuck are you doing with my phone?!" The boy quickly stood up from the chair and was now mere inches away from OC's face.

"Who gave you the pictures?" OC evades the boy's attempts to take his phone back.

"Give me back my—"

"—Who gave you the fucking photos?" OC cuts the boy off, his usually normal expression now replaced with a scornful scowl.

Instead of answering, the boy balls his hand up in a fist and attempts to aim at OC's nose.

In response, OC reels his face back and releases his grip on the phone, letting it drop to the hardwood floor and shatter for everyone to hear.

"Ah, that's too bad," OC remarks sarcastically, looking down at the now shattered phone with a cruel smile.

When he looks back up at the boy, he notices that his six friends sitting with him were now all standing. OC gazes into all of their eyes and notices anger in each of them.

The crowd of bystanders all began watching with mixed emotions, all of them interested, some raring to see a fight, a few wanting to get a staff member, and Kaguya, who was scared of what would happen.

Kaguya was worried that OC's chances to be voted into the Student Council would drop if he were to take this fight.

"Can any of you pieces of shit just answer my question?" OC asks as he once again surveys his newfound opponents.

Before OC can even get into a fighting stance, the boy standing in OC's face attempts to punch him again. OC feels the wind of the punch's impact breeze by his face as he reels his face back one more time.

He sighs, closing his eyes and slouching in his standing position.

"Alright, have it your way then."
