Chapter 14: Price Of The Good Deed

"Alright, have it your way then."

Hayasaka's chest pounds loudly while in the Disciplinary Committee area, she felt as if all the eyes in the room were judging her.

The eyes being two members of the Disciplinary Committee.

"Iino, about yesterday—" Hayasaka begins, a guilty expression on her face.

"—No, it's fine. I was being excessively harsh when I didn't know all of the facts first," Iino explains, lifting a hand up dismissing Hayasaka's thoughts.

"The Student Council informed us that the pictures were, in fact, fake. Right now we're launching an investigation as to who did it. I'm sorry you had to go through this, it's a disgusting act," the girl beside Miko states, while adjusting her large round glasses.

"Osaragi is right! Whoever did this is a prime example that the morality of Shuchiin is failing us! When I become president next year I'm go—"

"—Calm down, Miko," Osaragi interjects, putting a hand on Iino's shoulder.

"Oh! You're gonna run for President next year Iino?" Hayasaka asks, not bothering to put on her gyaru persona.

"That's right! Right now the Student Council isn't getting anything done! The only thing that Shinomiya girl and Shirogane boy are good for is getting rumors spread about their feelings! Not to mention that Ishigami out of all people holds a high position in the Student Council as well! The only good person there is Fujiwara, she's a saint among those demons!" Iino passionately explains while gripping her clipboard and straightening her posture pridefully.

Hayasaka shivers at the thought of Fujiwara, or in her mind, 'Subject F'.

Before she can respond, a familiar looking girl runs into the room, instantly attracting all of their attention.

"Mirin?! What are you—"

"—It's a fight! OC is fighting six people in that classroom!" Mirin frantically stammers out while pointing in the direction of the classroom.

Without a word, Iino and Hayasaka bolt out of the room, with Osaragi trying to ask Mirin what she saw.

Then Iino and Hayasaka hear something that shakes them to their very core.

"Please hurry! He's gonna kill them!"

*4:12 PM, Tuesday, Secondary Estate*

"I know, I know! I'm sorry, okay?!" OC exclaims as he tries to get Hayasaka to calm down.

"You goddamn IDIOT!" Hayasaka grips OC by his collar. "Are you insane?!" 

After fighting the six students, OC had gotten suspended because of  'excessive force.'

"You are this close to joining the Student Council and you get suspended?! Why did you even fight them anyway?!" Hayasaka continues, huffing and puffing as she speaks.

OC responds by looking down at the floor in shame.

"Tell me, OC! Don't you know how hurt you could have been?! There is no good reason why you should have fought six people!"

"To be fair, Hayasaka, he did win pretty much effortlessly," Kaguya adds, recalling the events of the fight.

"Shut up, Kaguya-sama! I don't care if he won or not! He could have been hurt badly, and he still won't tell me why he fought in the first place!" Hayasaka shouts.

Kaguya sighs, a somber look on her face. She can understand why Hayasaka would be so furious with this incident but also knows the yelling was unnecessary.

"Am I hurt badly though?" OC takes a step closer to Hayasaka, making her hesitate. Hayasaka shakes her head no. "Right, so everything's fine."

Hayasaka closes her eyes childishly when OC pats her head gently, her shoulders becoming stiff and her heart beginning to race.

"At least tell me why you got involved with that," Hayasaka mutters.

"Boys will be boys, I only knocked some sense into them all—"

"—If I remember correctly, during the fight, OC asked something about who sent the photos..?" Kaguya interrupts, tilting her head and thinking out loud. OC deadpans, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"OC..." a shadow casts over Hayasaka's eyes. She steps closer to him. Suddenly, OC found her arms around his torso. "You didn't have to stand up for me like that."

Kaguya looks on at how close Hayasaka has gotten to OC in the past week and has somewhat of an envy for it.

'If only President and I could be that close.'
