Ted sat in his dimly lit room, scrolling through his phone. Y/N's instagram page, specifically. It's all he brought himself to do for the past few days.
Though Ted had introduced Y/N to the other boys, they seemed to have grown closer with both Schlatt and Charlie, even going so far to hang out with them individually, excluding Ted almost every time they did.
And though they didn't realize it, it hurt Ted.
Badly.
Scrolling to Y/N's newest post, Ted felt his heart ache. It was a picture of Y/N getting breakfast with Charlie, with the caption, "Love hanging out with this guy! :) @Slmccl"
Switching his phone off, Ted sat up and rubbed his face. What did he do wrong? Did Y/N just not like him anymore? Was he not good enough for him?
It was eating away at Ted's brain, all the possibilities. Trying to take his mind off of things, he stuffed his phone into his pocket and stood up, walking into the bathroom.
All he did was just stand there, taking a look at himself in the mirror. And oh boy, did he look like shit.
He hadn't showered in about a week, wearing the same pair of sweatpants and hoodie he changed into last time he did. Dark circles had grown around his eyes, hell he barely even wore his glasses since all he did was lay in bed. He hadn't eaten a real meal in about two weeks, the only time he entered his kitchen was to grab a bottle of water or something small for the day, like a cheese stick or a singular cracker.
Not only did he physically look unwell, but his social life wasn't doing well, either. He had barely talked to Schlatt, Charlie, or Y/N in weeks, nor had he tweeted, posted, or uploaded anything. His last video was posted about a month and a half ago, and he hadn't worked on a new one since.
As he just stood there and stared, though, he felt his phone vibrate. Pulling it out, to know surprise he saw a new message from Y/N.
"Hey, it's been a while. Are you doing okay? Schlatt said you pushed the podcast off to next week. Again."
Reading the message his heart raced, though he felt left out Y/N had texted him every day. Just to check up on him, ask if he wanted to hang out, etc.
But no, he never accepted. Seeing how happy they were with the others- it crushed him.
He could never make them feel that happy.
Staring at the message, he stood still. He didn't type, didn't respond. Just stared. Suddenly Y/N began typing again, sending yet another message. "Ted, please don't ignore me. I know you're seeing this."
Slowly sitting down on the closed toilet, Ted rubbed his face, before sending the most generic message he could possibly send in response.
"Yeah, I'm okay."
After sending that he turned his phone off and set it aside, not bothering to get another response. His breathing had picked up as he stared at the floor, his leg bouncing slightly as he grew lost in thought.
