The moment I woke up from my deep sleep, the first thing I saw was Donghyuck. "Hey Mark," he said. My body jumped due to how surprised I got. His face was too close to mine, inches apart.
"Donghyuck what are you doing here?" I said and sat down on the bed. The morning was freezing cold and my body was mildly shaking. I turned on the heater last night but why is it darn cold today?
"Oh, I decided to visit your grandma a bit and she invited me to eat breakfast," he said, taking out his phone from his pocket and unlocking the lock screen. He opened an app and showed me a digital poster.
"There's a competition soon and it's a duet. Madam Irene asked if you wanted to join or not," he said, passing the phone to me. I took a quick look at it and it didn't seem too bad. "Yea sure, but with who?" I asked him as I gave him back the black phone. He took it from me and flashed a sweet smile. "I'm guessing it's you," I commented.
"Yup!" He expressed with such joy in his voice.
"Donghyuck is it cold for you in here?" I asked him. The windows were locked, so there's no possibility that the wind from outside was entering. Donghyuck checked around and put his hand on my forehead. "What?"
"Mark you're sick. This must've been the lake incident yesterday. Hah! You're sick," he laughed at me hysterically. "I need a memory of this," he opened the front camera and took a quick selfie. I didn't like what he was doing so I hid my face but Donghyuck kept on pushing my hands away so I would show my face. "No!" I pulled myself away and dropped my body to the bed, covering myself in the sheets.
"Come on!" He threw his phone on the bed and landed his body on mine, engulfing me in a hug. I held on to the bedsheet and uncovered my eyes to check on him and there his face was, yet again inches away. He stuck his tongue out a little and took a picture of my eyes. "Got it!" He said and removed himself.
"Delete that," I mumbled through the sheets. Not that I actually mind Donghyuck having a picture of me in his phone. I just know he will show it to people and start boasting about how I'm his 'enemy'. "Sure! You can dream about me deleting it," he responded.
I kicked the sheets off of me and sat down, glaring at him. "Whatever I'm going now," as I was about to get up from the bed, Donghyuck quickly pushed me back to the bed. "You're not going anywhere with that temperature. Literally just sit your ass down and stop thinking about spreading your stupid virus around," he walked to the kitchen and started using a bunch of kitchenware. I took out my phone and secretly recorded him, maybe a little revenge of what he did earlier.
After staring at him for about 5 minutes, my eyelid was starting to get tired since it shuts on it own a few times now. My phone kept on slipping away from my hand because my grip was getting weak due to my tiredness.
Donghyuck turned around and sat back down on the chair with a bowl of what seemed like a soup. "Oh my Markie is tired," he took my phone away and looked at it. "Why is it recording?" Donghyuck stopped the recording and put it on the table next to my bed. "Here have some chicken soup, it will make you feel better," he smiled at me.
"Are you 100% sure that I won't get food poisoning?"
"There's possibility if the things in your kitchen are expired,"
"I'm telling that to Nana,"
____
"Mark Lee," Nana shook my body to wake me up. I looked around and it was still dark and cold.
So it was a dream.
Expected since I found it impossible for Donghyuck to treat me like that after kissing me.
"Johnny is looking for you," she said with a smile. Nana ran her fingers through my hair and kissed my forehead. "I'll go check on him," I said and got off the bed. My hands grabbed a black windbreaker from the from and swiftly put it on myself.
I made my way downstairs, slowly gaining my senses after sleeping for what seemed like hours. Johnny was sitting on the curb, smoking as usual. Around this time, it would usually be his third stick.
"Anything happened?" I got outside and sat down next to him. He looked at me and faced the street once again, puffing out the smoke. "What happened to you in Canada?" He asked. I'm not sure if he had figured out anything by now but if he did, I hope he would forgive me.
"Do you happen to know anything?" I asked slowly, sounding unsure. My promise to him may seem small but to me and him, it was as big as this planet. If I break it, then I'll lose him.
"You know I loathe people who breaks promises,"
"Who's telling you any of this anyway?" There was no way he knew it on his own. Was there someone who told him about it? But if there was then who is that person? I left them all in Canada, unless they came back here.
"Gahyeon," he said. Johnny moved his gaze to the ground and smirked. "So it's true? What Gahyeon told me,"
I couldn't speak the moment he said her name. What was she doing here, out of all places, why here?
"How do you know her?" I felt something building up in my throat, taking my ability to breathe properly. "Why don't you answer my question first, Mark?"
"Johnny can we not talk about this?" I backed away for him. What I did was awful, I won't deny that but I don't want anything bad to happen between us when I just got back here.
"Well I won't go unless you tell me all about it," he dropped his smoke stick and stepped on it. I still wondered what got him hooked into my life. What rights did he had to know every single thing about me? I let him go because of what he did to me but why can't he do the same?
"Okay sure sleep here as long as you want. I'm going back inside," I left him outside alone. Johnny is a man with words. If he said it, he will do it. I know when I'll go to the University he would still be out here waiting for me but that would be something I have to figure out once I wake up.
Gladly he didn't do anything when I went into the store.
