Chapter 6

The week finally came to an end, and the weekend came. The weekend means that I have to get ready for the deal.

---FLASHBACK---

“Okay, here’s the deal,” Luke said. “First off, you have to change back to before you became.. like that, so it won't ruin my rep. Okay, so we’ll both have a month. If by the end of the month I get you to fall in love with me again, then you have to admit to the whole school that you love me.”

“What I if I win?” I asked with a smirk.

“Same ole Rosie, so full of yourself. If you win, I’ll have to leave you alone for the rest of your – interesting – life.” Luke replied. I winced at the nickname he used to call me. I only used to let him and Aaron call me that. Now, only Aaron calls me that, and I only want him to call me that.

“Don’t call me that,” I told him frowning.

“So, do we have a deal?” he asked.

“Yup,” I replied, before walking away.

---FLASHBACK---

“Do I really have to go?” Aaron’s whining snapped me out of my thoughts. I rolled my eyes.

“Why, yes, yes you do,” I told him. He pouted. I just chuckled as we drove towards the mall. Aaron slumped down in the seat. I shook my head at my brother’s childishness. We soon pulled up to the mall. I parked as close I can so that I don’t have to walk so far. I know, I'm a lazy person, and yeah, I was the one driving. Aaron and I actually argued about it for ten minutes. I obviously won, like usual.

“Come on Ronny. I don’t have all day. We have ‘til nine to get everything I need for the deal.” I told him using my nickname for him. He doesn’t like it.

“Ugh, fine, and don’t call me that you know I hate it,” he groaned.

“I know. That’s why I call you that,” I told him grinning. We got out of the car and walked towards the mall. Did I ever tell you how much I hate shopping? I never liked it. We walked in, and I felt a rush of cool air hit my face. We walked to all the clothes stores and got new outfits that can last five years. Did I mention we’re loaded?

We finished in about two hours. We made constant stops to the car to drop off our stuff. After our last load, we decided to eat a bit at the food court. We were eating our burgers, laughing along to whatever silly story decided to tell me, when suddenly a pink and orange Barbie came into view. She was hanging onto the one and only Lucas Marion Hall. Yup, I know his middle name. We did go out once upon a time. I gestured for Aaron to turn around. The Barbie, I mean, Jasmine. She is the queen bitch of our school. She has never really harassed me, only because she’s afraid of what my bro will do to her. Aaron turned around and suddenly he stiffened. Wow. He seems to stiffen a lot this past week. He seriously hates Luke.

“Calm down, would you Aaron? It’s in the past. I still don’t forgive him, but I don’t want to dwell too hard on what happened FOUR YEARS AGO!!!!” I almost screamed at him. He looked back at me, and he took a big breath to calm himself down.

“Sorry Rosie. It just makes my blood boil that the guys who broke your heart to pieces is back in your life.” He told me, looking down.

“Aaron, I’m fine. I love you and all, but I’m a big girl. I can take care of myself.” I assured him. he shook his head at me.

“I know that. I remember how you were such a badass before. You can beat almost anyone. Especially when it comes to making a deal. You win practically everything. Plus, you are pretty good at fighting, but you need to re-train, though. You’re probably all soft now from being a nerd for so long,” he said. I rolled my eyes and punched his shoulder.

“You definitely still punch like a man,” he said rubbing the spot I punched him.

“Wimp,” I told him, smiling. I guess Luke and Jasmine spotted us, because the next thing we knew, they were at our table.

“What do you guys want?” I snapped at them. From the corner of my eye, I can see Aaron clenching and unclenching his jaw.

“Ooh, the nerd is feisty today,” the bitch sneered, obviously forgetting that my brother is sitting right across from me.

“What did you call her?” Aaron said in a low voice. Jasmine looked at Aaron fear evident in her eyes. She hid behind Luke who was trying hard not to laugh at her cowardly gesture. I didn’t try to hide it in at all. I doubled back in laughter.

“Um, nothing? I-I d-didn’t call her anything. I said she was a n-nice girl,” she said nervously. This made me laugh even more. I can’t believe she was so scared of my brother!

“Wow, Rosie, you having your big bro do the fighting for you now? Since when are you that weak?” He sneered at me. This made me stop laughing, but before I could say anything, Aaron cut me off.

“You know what? You can’t just waltz back into her life like you did nothing, you little-“

“Okay!! So, Luke, I didn’t ask my brother to but in. You should know pretty well that I usually fight my own battles. Plus, you remember our little deal right? Well, isn’t this a good way for this to start off? I see you on a date with someone else,” I said cutting my brother off. Luke’s face became red with anger, but before he could say something, I grabbed Aaron’s arm and dragged him out of the mall. We got into the car and immediately drove home. As soon as we got home, I went straight to my room. I was sorting through my clothes when I heard a knock on my door.

“Come in,” I said without looking up.

“So, what are you doing?” I hear my brother ask.

“Sorting through my old clothing. I’m just going to put them in a box just in case I want them for later. I’m going to start dressing up like my old self tomorrow. I’m so happy I have perfect vision. That way, I won’t have to but contacts,” I told Aaron, still not looking up from what I was doing.

“You have perfect vision? How come you wear glasses?” he asked.

“Yes, I do, and I wear glasses to look like a nerd,” I answered him. “Do we still have my bike?”

“Yeah, it’s in the garage. Why are you asking?”

“Because I’m going to start fixing it back up, and start riding that to school, and no, you can’t use it,” I told him.

“How’d you know I was going to ask that without looking at me?” Aaron asked surprised.

“Because, I know you. Plus, you’re my twin brother. We kind of have this twin telepathy thing going,” I told him. I stood up and faced him. “Come on, you can help me fix my bike, then I might consider letting you ride it around tomorrow.”

“Yay!” Aaron squealed. I laughed at his childishness. We walked out to the garage and started working on my bike.
