I'd just put Ciara down for a nap and had a little free time on my hands. Leo trained with the warriors as I watched cross-legged on the porch. I was a bit tired since I hadn't slept well the night before, but at least school was out. Professional development, I believe. I couldn't care less why, as long as I didn't have to go. I smiled as Leo flipped another warrior over his shoulder. They were practicing hand-to-hand combat, specifically throws and holds, and Leo was having a great time defaulting to throwing people over his shoulder. So much so that a bet had started for whoever could subdue him before landing on their ass and/or back. As far as I knew, the pot was up to 150 bucks and the whole situation was becoming more amusing the longer the situation went on. Ari, who had a look of amused disappointment, made his way over to me along with Kyle, whose look of defeat became more pronounced with every additional toss. Ari stopped in front of me while Kyle's head hung in defeat. He honestly looked like a kicked puppy and I had to hold back my laughter as he looked up with pleading eyes and clasped hands,

"Young Luna, please stop him! He's killing the morale of the warriors!"

I raised a brow,

"How much did each of you bet?"

Kyle looked down in slight embarrassment while Ari avoided my eye, clearing his throat before speaking in a low voice,

 "I added a 100..."

My brows furrowed in disbelief. 100? Seriously? This was supposed to just be for kicks and they were throwing hundreds in like it was nothing. Hundreds...? My eyes flicked to Kyle, who had yet to answer. I raised a brow and lightly kicked his boot-clad foot,

"You added a hundred as well?"

He scratched the back of his head speaking just as quietly as Ari,

 "Well, not exactly..."

I narrowed my eyes and clicked my tongue, making sure my thinning patience was noticeable. Kyle, his mate, Jayce, and I were on better terms, but not enough where my patience was long enough for his embarrassment to settle itself. Get it together, man. I mean, how bad could it be? Kyle cleared his throat and said, finally,

 "I quadrupled it."

"You quadrupled what? You added 400?"

A pot of 650 is much larger than it was before these two gambling addicts participated, but it could always be worse. Kyle, though, shook his head and I leaned forward slightly,

 "You didn't..."

Kyle nodded,

 "I bet quadruple the pot..."

These two 'adults' are unbelievable. Who the hell bets a thousand on a training exercise? I rolled my eyes and leaned back while looking at them with disapproval,

"Why exactly should I help you two irresponsible wolves? Losing your money seems like a good teacher to me."

They spoke one after another, starting with Kyle in a panic,

"Jayce will kill me and our couch makes a 2×4 plank feel soft when you're trying to sleep on it."

"Mical will never let me live it down, and I can't take hundreds of years of teasing from that man."

I shook my head, my stoic mask back on my face completely, though I'm sure my eyes were judging them,

"Sounds like you'd be better off getting a better couch if you had a thousand just lying around to bet with and you, Ari, knew what you were getting into when you decided to make Mical your best friend...but I'm feeling merciful. After I win the full 1250, I'll take a grand and you can split the 250 amongst yourselves."
