[Dazai's POV]

"Odasaku!" I called out, waving to the tall and slender man. "Odasaku!"

He sat next to me and ordered his drink.

The bar was especially quiet today. Maybe it was because I wasn't drinking with Chuuya or maybe it was because...

Of her...

I sighed, we kept going on and on of meeting and then going on weeks without talking to each other. 

"Why the long sigh?" Odasaku asked. "It's pretty rare coming from you."

"It's nothing."

"Doesn't sound like nothing."

I played with the ice in my glass. 

"You know," I mumbled, slurring my words. "She's not talk-"

"Can you speak properly? I cannot hear a single word you're saying."

"She's not talking to me anymore."

"Who?"

"You know," I went back to mumbling. "Kagura, she's my work partner."

"Is she giving you a hard time?"

"I think it's me giving her a hard time. She won't talk to me anymore."

"Do you miss her?"

Ah 

Is this how it feels to miss someone?

"I suppose so," the unruly feeling inside my chest appeared again. 

"Do you like her?"

I jumped up from my seat.

"It-errr- it's not like that," I sat back down. "At least I don't think it is."

"Jeez, you are childish."

"Huh?!"

"You're acting like a little kid who has a crush. God, I feel bad for this girl."

"Whatever," I said, gulping down my drink, "It's not like she would like me back anyways."

"Okay then," he laughed. "Let's get another drink."

[Your POV]

I dropped my bag after another excruciating day of work. I took my bloody gloves off and placed them in the sink. 

I took off my jacket and my tie and left it on the ground. 

"I could really use a cig right now," I sighed, collapsing on my bed. "I'm so tired."

I looked to the ceiling. Thoughts kept scattering through my head like rats.

"He wouldn't," I told myself. "He's heartless. Absolutely heartless. He looks like he has no soul. There's no way he would-"

Ding Dong

I sat up. 

I opened the door and saw the man I was dreading to see.

"Dazai san," I said.

"Kaguwa chan~" His cheeks were bright red and it looked like he wasn't able to walk properly. 

"You're drunk," I sighed, helping him inside my apartment.

I closed the door and walked towards the kitchen. "I'll make you some te-"

I felt arms wrapping around me. I turned to see a pair of brown eyes looking back at me. I could feel the temperature of my face rising.

"Dazai san!" I blushed, trying to push him away. "What are you-"

"Kaguwa chan~" he smiled. "I missed you~"

"I don't understand anything that you say," I shoved his hands away. 

I managed to get him to the sofa.

He lay there, smiling at me. 

I pushed his bangs out of his eyes. 

"Why am I even doing this," I mumbled, deciding to get up.

Before I could leave, he grabbed my wrist. 

"What do you want now?" I sighed.

He cupped my cheek with his hand. "Didn't you hear me? I said I missed you."

I tried to ignore him but it didn't work. My heart was beating so quickly I couldn't think properly. His voice was quiet, like he was actually trying to be serious for once, but I knew better.

"Kagura chan," he said, softly. "Did you miss me too?"

"I guess you could say that," I replied. "But it's hard to tell when you're so frustrating and-"

Kiss

Time seemed to stop as our lips collided. The sick feeling came back to me. The awful feeling that I didn't want to feel. The beating of my heart and the red in my face.

If only you would feel the same way

I pulled away, unable to speak.

"I think I like you, Kagura chan," Dazai whispered. 

I laughed, coldly, "That's sweet, but I would've preferred it if you weren't drunk."

I got up, but his words stopped me from moving any further.

"Do my words really mean nothing to you?"

His voice sounded hurt.

"You reek of alcohol," I muttered, pushing the stupid feeling out of my chest. "I just... wish you were serious sometimes."
