5 Years Later

"I'm so nervous," Namjoon told his brother as he clasped his hands together, his elbows propped on the table as his legs shook from nervousness.

"I'm sure her parents aren't going against you now. You've been dating their daughter for seven years. It's literally about time that you guys tie the knot." Jin said while patting the back of his younger brother for comfort.

"Plus you can't back out now. Our parents are already here in Busan to see you propose," Taehyung reminded.

Namjoon had already planned everything. He already had the girls prepare Haneul for their dinner date by the beach. Although Haneul knows about the dinner, she isn't aware of Namjoon's surprise. He had been planning to propose to her years ago, but he was occupied with work especially when he had been doing world tours of his own.

"They're here," Jin said as soon as he saw Haneul's parents enter the restaurant of their hotel where he asked to meet them in person.

"Good luck, lover boy." His brothers said as they patted his shoulders before they left the restaurant to check up on the beach where some staff were already setting up the place for the dinner date and Namjoon's proposal.

"What's up, sweetheart? Why did you suddenly want to talk with us?" Haneul's mother asked as she and her husband took a seat on the opposite side of Namjoon.

"Eomeoni and Abeoji, I have something to tell you." He nervously said, and the tension within him did not leave the feeling of the elders.

"Go on. What is it?" Her father said, looking at Namjoon suspiciously.

Namjoon took a deep breath to calm his nerves before saying, "I-I would like to formally ask for your daughter's hand for marriage."

Haneul's mother gasped and her father's eyes widened in surprise, yet they both felt extremely happy for their daughter at the same time.

They've seen how much Haneul and Namjoon loved each other and grew with each other through the years that they've been together. Although their relationship had always been lowkey due to Namjoon's career, it never became a big issue between the two of them.

She has always been patient and understanding, and he always made sure to make efforts to give back to her. They say that it takes two to tango, and that saying had been very evident to the both of them.

As the years went by, things in their lives became busier. Namjoon became more famous both nationally and internationally. He would go on tour for 6 months or so with limited breaks. On the other hand, Haneul was recognized for her incredible performance and eventually became the Accounting Manager of the company that she's working for.

Haneul's mother held his hand that was placed on the table and warmly smiled at him as she nodded and said, "Take good care of our daughter, Namjoon. We trust you."

"Don't ever hurt her," was only what her father could say, and he also smiled at Namjoon as a response.

Namjoon smiled brightly, his dimples piercing his cheeks. He happily held the hands of her mother with his other hand and looked at both her parents in joy.

"Eomeoni, Abeoji, I won't break your trust. I promise!"

He discussed his plans for the wedding proposal to them. It wasn't anything too grand and magical, but he would like for her and his parents to be with them on one of the happiest days in their lives.

The sky that was once painted in orange and blue colors had finally darkened into a canvas of black filled with splashes of stars. The sky was so clear, no evidence of clouds were even seen, making the stars appear brighter than ever.
