What you and Mikasa hadn't expected to find once you left the mall was Dionne's car in the parking lot. Perhaps it was mere coincidence, she had mentioned a few things about some new home decor items. Her sunglasses were on, the car was in park. If she was looking for home decor, the nearest IKEA was miles away, the little corner garden shop wasn't even in the modern style she was looking for. Why were you even trying to deny it? You were most definitely screwed.

You tugged on Mikasa's arm as she absent-mindedly licked at grape popsicle in her hands.

"Hm?" She asked.

You gave her a pointed look to Dionne's car and you noticed her increase in pace.

"Just keep walking and pretend you didn't see it!" The raven haired girl ordered as the pair of you continued your trek through the parking lot.

Despite the words, you couldn't help looking back to the car. Dionne had told stories about skipping school all the time, surely she wouldn't mind if this was just the one time. The pair of you could lie and say that you just went a little overboard with your lunch break. Then again...lunch breaks didn't last until three.

The blaring of the car horn forced you and Mikasa to halt in your stupid escape and soon enough, your aunt's voice was screeching across the expanse of the busy car park and from the way your face burned, you wished that you had simply accepted defeat.

"Mikasa Ackerman and y/n l/n get your asses in this car or you girls will have serious problems!" She yelled, causing shoppers to turn and look.

Dionne with her big ass mouth...

Soon enough, the three of you were in Dionne's conspicuous, rouge Mini Cooper, cruising through the lanes to Mikasa's. Your friend was in the back seat, not too bothered about Dionne's ironic lecture, instead finishing off the rest of her popsicle. You, however, were unfairly forced to endure every word.

"Do you actually understand how goddamn embarrassing it is for the school to ring me up and say that you've been absent from your last lessons? It makes me look like some kind of neglecting bitch. How do you expect me or your mother to believe that you are capable of taking care of yourself y/n? Your first exams are next week. Do you honestly want to be making mistakes like this?" The curly haired woman berated.

Despite the fact you were still bitter about having to take the brunt of her cussing, you allowed yourself to absorb her words. Just not in the context she was expecting. Your mind took you back to accepting Jean's number. Was taking the contacts of Eren's rival the right thing to do? You were your own person, Eren didn't own you. But it was the fact you were getting yourself more caught up into all of this was the problem.

If you really wanted no contact with Jean, you would have binned the napkin with his digits. But you hadn't. It was still in the top of your desk drawer. It was just your natural inquisitiveness, that was all. There was no way you could ever be genuinely interested in anything to do with Jean, obviously...
